BvS Lex Luthor Casting Thread - Part 4

I haven't heard Flash, but if you Google his name, pretty much every result is going to come back saying he is rumored for Lex.

I like his look as well, he has facial scarring and is blind in one eye due to an accident. I think it gives him an edge.

Lex as well. All rumors as I said, but I think he could be Lex.

The only reputable website with a rumor about Mulvey says hes up for Metallo.

I googled him and it says likely villain. It doesn't say Lex. I did read he was being considered for Flash...unfortunately I can't find it now.

If he is being considered for Lex then I like the direction they are going. I can't say I like him because I don't even know the guy, but he's got the look I want. I hope they keep the hair in any case.

On what are we basing our casting preferences, if not that? Technical acting ability alone? If so, I'm not sure Momoa really places very highly.

Unless you're dealing with a character - fictional or otherwise - whose ethnicity/visual look is explicitly and specifically pivotal to who they are, there's absolutely no reason to disqualify any actor or actress from playing said character.

Lex Luthor is not one of those types of characters.

Again, what do you have to go on if you exclude resemblance, traits in common, and technical ability? The sound of the actor's name?

Jason Momoa would make an excellent Lex.

No, Lex Luthor is too important to be played by any mediocre actor, they need someone really good for the part. Momoa is ok for a secondary role like Metallo or whoever Lex uses against Superman.

I've haven't seen much of Momoa's acting so I'm definitely not going to dis the guy's acting chops. I just think he looks like someone Cavill is going to be throwing down with more than anything.
