I guess Joaquin Phoenix was the first actor I suggested for the role since I created an account in this forum, as well as Henry Cavill for Superman.

You can't imagine how happy I am. I hope he accept.

Hmm... How long ago was GLADIATOR? It has been a quite a few years since he's done anything even approaching a summer tentpole film.

'Gladiator' came out in 2000 and then I think his next big film after that was 'Walk the Line' in 2005.

Walk The Line was big. Still, he could use a project that attracts more than the arthouse crowd. This would work towards that.

It's funny because someone recently suggested JP and because I just recently seen The Master I thought he would be a great choice. If this comes true I will say that's a huge boon for the movie. I really this rumor turns true, but I'm not so excited that I can't see anyone else in the role. He would be good, but there are others.

Hate to disillusion you, but I assure you in the eyes of WB/DCE she is most certainly second-tier. Just consider for the last film, SR, they got an Oscar-winning actor to play Lex Luthor. He will get that same treatment again. Yet for Wondy...she gets some girl nobody really knows. Second tier...

i don't know how and why that's the same thing. they largely go with unknowns in these hero type roles.

I disagree with that. Compared to other similar actors cast in recent franchises most people don't even remember her from F&F.

Just speculating here, but... if Phoenix is being targeted and turns down the role, who do you see WB going after in his place?
