The Rock is one of few actors that could really resurrect the Green Lantern character. That would be an AMAZING financial move for DC to secure him as John Stewart. Just amazing. He's perfect for a role like that.

Wouldnt Idris Elba be a better fit?:

Apparently, Marvel did not allowed Jaimie Alexander to be WW, if that's true, then there's no chance for Idris to be a DC character. But even if that's not the case, Rock is much more popular than him, which means a bigger BO for WB.

What has Marvel got to do with it? Unless there is some kind of exclusivity or lock-out clause in the relevant contracts, they are irrelevant. Even so, I think the notion than WB and Marvel exist to frustrate each other's CBM projects is just a fanboy fantasy, and not one that bears much scrutiny.

Variety reports that Fast & Furious veteran Gal Gadot and G.I. Joe: Retaliation's Elodie Yung have tested for a female lead. Variety also confirms yesterday's rumors about Olga Kurylenko screen-testing for the movie.

The trade adds that Thor's Jaimie Alexander is out of the running due to her ongoing obligations to DC's rival Marvel Studios.

@not regwec- jaime alexander? she's so awful. the only reason anyone wants her for Wonder Woman is because of her role as sif. the rock as lex? yeah it'll probably happen, but people only "see it" because he shaves his head and revives franchises

The possibility of getting this, Cavill/Adams, Bruce/Clark's friendship/rivalry, and the new writer on board are the things that remind me that I am somewhat hyped about this movie. I can take or leave the rest. I really hope we get him as Lex. I'll definitely be deflated if we don't.

Same here, Kent. I'll also be a bit disappointed if it turns out they opt to call the film Batman VS Superman. That title just doesn't sit right with me.
