How does a finishing school work? Like FCW or Tough Enough?

I'm wondering if Terry Taylor is really the kind of guy that should be tasked with such a responsibility.

Actor Sean Hayes, who appears as Larry in the new Three Stooges film, was on Conan on TBS promoting the film and when his appearance in character on WWE’s Raw was brought up, he commented that he was immediately booed. He referred to the female wrestling as “hilarious” and sarcastically referred to it as “quality television.”

In response, WWE champion CM Punk wrote on Twitter, “Holy crap, so the *****e who’s playing Larry in the stooges movie says he was embarrassed to be on raw? But he’s in the stooges movie?!!??”

But not embarassed about his claim to fame being Will and Grace. :o

More like Will & Disgrace after that suck ass performance as Larry.

Sting vs Hogan at Starrcade 97 wasn't a bad match but between Stings rust and Hogans bad wheel it didn't live up to the hype either. But the thing that really blighted it was the screwy finish with the messed up 3 count. If the finish had gone off properly and Sting had a proper reign going forward I think people would remember the match more fondly.

That match was HORRIBLE! Hogan dominated the match then beat Sting clean before the screwy finish thanks to the refereee's botch.

Guys, I haven't seen Bobby Roode match in awhile. What's a good one to see?

Punk with the perfect response.

Why can't all celebrities who visit wrestling be more like Hugh Jackman? That's a star right there, and he came there with professionalism and enthusiasm. Punk's reaction is gold. I'd be more embarrassed to have been in that horrible film.

I watched a few clips from Impact, and I thought James Storm gave the promo of the year! Easily the best promo of his career and Hunter was right, he had the crowd in the palm of his hand.

That promo actually covered the Lockdown ending really well.

When you look at the NWO vs WCW angle Hogan did his usual, he refused to lose the title to Piper and jobbed in a non title match, yes a non title match at Starrcade! and even won the rematch, and then when it came time he screwed Sting, killing his momentum. The guy he jobbed clean to? Lex Luger, no threat.

In contrast Savage not only put DDP over clean but he jobbed to his finisher in their first match at Spring Stampede 97, this match put DDP on the map, Savage won the second match through Hall and lost the blow-off. Exactly how a face/heel feud is worked.

It's hard to tell because I don't really get Austin's comment, but if I were Punk I'd be careful what I wished for.

NWO vs. WCW did not even feel like a war at all really. You had over 10 guys apart of the NWO and a few guys from WCW going up against them. Everytime somebody got beat up by the NWO on the WCW side, the WCW wrestlers would not even come out. You had more guys on the WCW roster then NWO, should of made WCW more of a threat, yet NWO was this unstoppable force, but then would all run scared when Sting, one man would appear. Just did not make no sense at all.

Did you see his matches with AJ?

I like the idea going around that Roode vs Storm may go all the way to BFG, a year on from when the whole thing started.

The biggest issue was they barely left any over faces to work with the NWO as they basically had the bulk of the most over guys, had Savage not made DDP then it would have been endless Luger with a bit of Flair and a much weakened Horseman line-up and an appearence here and there from Piper.

As much as I didn't like that they had Storm win at Lockdown, if TNA's drags it out to BFG and has Storm go over getting his big win, I'm all for it. The way thursday's promo set it up, they can make the program work out really well. This is actually the closest thing to an old-school, long-term wrestling program that I can remember.

No a finishing school is for guys who already have a lot of experience in developmental or even in the big leagues but just need some extra polish.

The order would be Tough Enough < FCW < Finishing School. Taz has or had one. Its not to teach guys the basics but to teach them some of the finer nuances.

Taylor is a good choice for this. He was never a big star but he was always a dependable hand. He's another old school guy with a lot of experience and he's worked behind the scenes for decades so he knows how the business works.

That pretty much sums it up. Hogans whole WCW run was manipulation after manipulation. When he jobbed to Bily Kidman he did it for a guy he knew was never going to get over as opposed to someone like Bret Hart or Benoit or Jericho.

DDP just said the other day how that match with Savage basically made him a top star.

:whatever: The match wasn't horrible. The match wasn't that great either. Hogan vs Warrior at Halloween Havoc was horrible. Big difference.

The finish for Hogan/Sting was supposed to be a fast count then Bret comes out to reverse it but Nick Patrick counted at a normal pace. Thats where the problem was. And who knows if it was a botch? Thats where the controversy comes in.

Not sure if anybody posted this but Netflix has a lot of fresh WWE stuff on there.

Just as long as they don't do something stupid like have RVD beat Roode for the title. Ideally RVD is used the way Sting should have been used a few months ago.

Savage never should have joined the NWO IMO. At least not the black and white. I've always felt him subjecting his will to a leader like Hogan was pretty out of character. He never seemed like the type to follow anybody. He and Hogan had their power struggle later but Savage should have been a tweener or independent entity in WCW.

That makes sense....I think. I think it might make more sense to me if someone put it through a real sports example.

NWO should of been Hogan, Hall, Nash, Pac, Steiner and Giant. Team WCW should of been Savage, DDP, Flair, Sting, Goldberg and Luger. NWO had too many members and I agree Savage should of never joined them.

And the Wolfpac vs. Hollywood storyline made even more no sense cause it was a civil war between the NWO and WCW just forgot all about the war they had with the NWO altogether and moved on to other stuff. Don't even know what the Wolfpac motives was? To eliminate NWO Hollywood and takeover wCw for themselves? Or just eliminate NWO Hollywood?

For it to work, they have to keep the title on Roode until BFG, or at least until Storm rematches him and beats him. You cannot have Roode lose a title match to anyone else, especially an older talent like RVD

What if WWE teamed up AJ with Zack Ryder and they faced Eve and Daniel Bryan?

I agree. It pretty much needs to be when HHH held the title in 2003 for majority of the year until he dropped it to Goldberg. Dominant champion.

I think they have enough challengers and could create enough scenarios to keep Roode's reign interesting. They could do a tag-team main-event in one show instead of him defending the title. It can definitely happen.

I agree. Savage was a loose cannon and hated Hogan. It didn't make much sense. I figured there was a method to his Macho Madness and he was going to turn on them from within.

I like the idea of Storm coming back after recharging his batteries and ready to take on Roode. In the meantime they can make Roode look unbeatable.

You know, there was a lot of missed potential with Tatanka's heel turn. They could have attempted different with him instead of making him a sellout for Money Inc.

My idea for him would have had him coming out, still with the same hair and earrings, but instead of his tribal wrestling gear sport a well taylored suit and walk slowly to the ring. Have him denounce the United States because of its treatment of the American Indian over the years. Book him as an Anti-American Native American. A true American turning his back on the country due to its past sins. I could have been great because I thought was a very good wrestler for the time and had a decent character that I think could have pulled this off. THEN you could have given him the backing of Ted DiBiase in his chase to the top, having him using the white man to do his bidding while he goes about taking the most important title of the company. Because his normal character would never have made it as a main eventer. But if they put some real effort into it, the potential...

That would of been more interesting. I liked the Million Dollar Corporation but they always seemed like stooges. Tatanka should of been a bigger deal at the time but he just fizzled out.

If WWE were booking Ryder properly that might work.

-Sean Hayes, who plays Larry in The Three Stooges, appeared on Conan this week where he said he was embarrassed to be on the program. He added that he would never attend a WWE event.
http://teamcoco.com/video/sean-hayes-wwe

but he is in the 3 stooges movie LOL

and wwe helped promote his movie stay classy

I think Hayes was just trying to be funny. He felt outside his element in that environment and like he said , no one would expect to see him there.
