Here's my advice, ConeBone: Don't be dissapointed yet. I don't see why you would when perhaps it's the marketing that gives off a tone that you may not agree with.
If you think about the trailers thus far, they only show 3 or 4 of the same scenes. And they almost involve the truck/car chase.
Think about it: We still don't know the mob subplot, the hong kong subplot, Joker's motivation (if he has one), Harvey's decent into Two Face, etc.
There's A LOT we don't know about.
So be dissapointed at the marketing department because I think it's too early to declare that the movie won't be as 'dark' as the first one.
The marketing department is just trying to put more butts in seats. If they showed a tone consistent with the actual film parents would be scared to take their children.
