Funnily enough though, some people have compared what we got to those.

I wasn't aware of that, these just came to my mind as good reptilian make-ups from past films. I remember being blown away by both of these when I saw the films originally, way back when.

For what it's worth I think The Lizard looks quite good. Better without the human eyes though.

I was watching a review of the trailer and someone pointed out something about the lack of the snout that I thought was interesting. Supposedly, the lizard will be able to speak to an extent, so how can you speak when you have a snout? Your anatomy would also have to be correct to allow the ability to speak.

IKR? No matter how cool the design may be, it will always look bad/weird when something with an elongated snout is speaking.

That's the only problem with a long bestial snout, that it definitely can't speak as clearly as with a humanoid mouth.

Still, I'm pretty sure it can be worked out. That raptor face looks like it could mimic how we mostly speak.

Take "WARM BLOOD", for example. If you observe how our mouths shape when we say that, you can imagine it is definitely possible on a raptor face as well. Vowels shouldn't be a problem as long as you give it a voice. "W" takes a simple shape with our mouth that I can imagine on a raptor's, "M" is just a closed-mouth sound, "L" is simply our tongue and the upper part of our mouth making the sound, "D" is the same as "L" except we create that "D" sound compression when we make air molecules collide or something like that.

Hope I didn't sound too long-winded, but you can see its plausibility. The only issue could be that we (or just I) haven't seen a bestial face trying to realistically speak like humans (except for Pixar), so it may look wrong or weird at first, and may or may not get used to it. But then again, it may not have a problem at all.

No. I'm sorry, but that was extremely convoluted and has zero understanding of the complexities behind human muscle movement and human speech capability. The equivalent of two 4x4s clapping against each other has no possibility of ever mimicking human speech in any legible manner.

I can completely understand people wanting to see the most prominent Lizard design, but this is a case of choosing one or the other. Once you opt for the traditional look in live-action, I genuinely can't see how you can implement speech into it as well. I'm sure this is precisely why we got the aesthetic we did. They have teams of experts who analyze every detail of these characters from the moment the project is greenlit. They have to, to ensure the process goes smoothly in translating it on-screen. As such, this flaw is one of the most obvious, and frankly, impossible hurdles associated with bringing that particular look to life.

This is by far the funniest notice I have have seen but OK. It was getting weird that we brought that up so much.

It makes sense to me. It just caught me off guard and I find it funny that the mods should even have to say that. It should be commen sense.

I love the flatter face. It's humanoid, yes, but so are the main proportions of the rest of his body; arms, legs and torso - you don't see lizards with that type of body, so it makes sense that his face would go the same route. The entire look is great; just what I'd want the Lizard to look like. It's a dude who's mutated into a lizard/man hybrid.
