The Amazing Spider-Man Lizard's New Look: Verdict?--POLL

What did you think of his appearance?

  • PERFECT! It's the character come to life!

  • THAT'S the Lizard?! Mini-godzilla without the coat?

  • Can't tell yet. He wasn't in the trailer enough.

  • Where's Venom?!

  • It seems ok.

Between the new trailer footage and the screenshot of him in the lab coat, I think The Lizard officially looks fantastic.
Agreed. I thought he was alright before, but the combat footage in this third trailer seals the deal.

When I see him in the coat... it's like the drawings come to life. Outside it's almost a different character. How do people feel about this lizard retaining his human intelligence? Yet still running his naked lizard ass through the city with cans of green gas?

I so wish he'd have the coat on throughout the whole film :( he looks so great in it compared to being naked! That part where he smashes a SWAT cop in a roof lamp looks so badass, much because of the coat!

I'm happy we get to see the comic look of the coat at least once. The film is not realistic by any stretch, but I suppose we can't expect him to transform every single time with the coat on, or keep it totally intact even if he does. Having one villain instead of 3 will help a lot - put all their energy into one good characterisation and hopefully reach the heights of SM2's Doc Ock.

That could be possible, but I'm still not sure about Connors' characterization. I usually love how in most interpretations he is this warm-hearted guy that you really feel sorry for when he turns into the lizard, but here he seems to have this attitude all the way through the movie. But, I wont judge before I see the movie

I have watched the trailer over and over again, and the lizard doesn't look like this at all:

How could they have screwed up promo art this bad?

From what we've seen, the Lizard's labcoat gets very shredded up. That could explain why he loses it.

Yeah, he gets shot to hell by the NYPD. If you look at the scene in the trailer where he's laying on the ground, there are bullet holes everywhere around him. Would explain why his coat is in tatters.

I think all the new pics and footage we've seen are the definitive confirmation that Lizard's always looked like this; the "longer snout" in that infamous leaked picture was pure bogus.

Yes. I assume that's what he's carrying his little canisters of gas in.

You can see it on him when he's wearing the labcoat in the trailer too.

Can't wait to hear the lizard's voice. That interview Rhys did gave us a good idea but the final product really intrigues me.

So did we get confirmation that the lizard will talk when he is transformed?

It's reassuring knowing that he won't be a mindless beast like some recent iterations. A lizard with power, cunning and intelligence is a far greater threat to Peter.

As long as it is not as horrible as the voice that came out of ghost Rider I will be happy.

There was an old interview where Rhys spoke briefly in the lizard voice. It was pretty cool. Coupled with whatever audio effects I'm sure they'll use, I have no worries about his voice.

I think he looks really good considering that they are still working on him, according to yesterday's interview of Webb on Slashfilm.

Considering I loved the basic voice he used in the interview, anything from there only makes it that much better.

I thought he was kidding, didn't take that seriously since he was drunk. Lol

He actually looks even better than the way he looked in the last trailer. I wonder if they're still working on Lizard's look to this day.
