The Amazing Spider-Man Lizard's New Look: Verdict?--POLL

What did you think of his appearance?

  • PERFECT! It's the character come to life!

  • THAT'S the Lizard?! Mini-godzilla without the coat?

  • Can't tell yet. He wasn't in the trailer enough.

  • Where's Venom?!

  • It seems ok.

He actually looks even better than the way he looked in the last trailer. I wonder if they're still working on Lizard's look to this day.

Like I said above, Webb said in an itw a month ago that they were still working on him, and again in the itw posted yesterday on Slashfilm, I think he said there'd be a few surprises.

Well....it seems to work because Lizard is looking extraordinary.

Honestly, I would not be surprised at all to learn that they are continuing to do touch-ups with the Lizard even this late. But I agree, I'm really liking the overall look of Lizard.

In the Slashfilm interview, the day before the trailer released, Webb said he had just come from incorporating Rhys mo-cap performance into the Lizard and apparently he went back to work right afterwards. So I'm hoping they're also touching up other aspects of the Lizard as well.

Nah....it's fine for a comic and a cartoon, but I can't see a live-action film of a Lizard running around and wanting some coat on him.

Is it just me or does it look like the Lizard's eyes glow a bright red in the part where he pounces at Spidey on top of OsCorp? It's in the brief flash at the beginning of the trailer.

I understand where your coming from but the lab coat, to me, symbolized the fact that there is inner termoil in him from bein a monster and a man of science. I've got into this before and am happy that he at least appears in the coat a couple of scenes but I wish it was longer becuase, as I've said, Lizard is my fave Spidey villian.

Nope, I see the red too. It looks like they are also red when the lizard's in the bathroom of the 2nd trailer.

What you're seeing is the area around his eye, not his eye itself:

Yeah, totally forgot to change that post. I took note of that in another thread.

Thanks Venomspawn!

Gotta say, I like that shot of his snout! Looks pretty bad ass.

What do we think will be Connors/Lizard's ultimate fate by the end of the movie?

Yes the trailer does seem to indicate that Connors will end up in jail, and that he'll know Spider-man's identity. We'll have to see if he has any involvement in the sequels. In the 90's cartoon Spidey helped to cure Connors and hide his lizard identity from the public. In return Connors would discreetly assist Spider-man with any scientific/medical problems he may have. That way, Parker doesn't have to go to a regular doctor and say "Yeah my friend had a dream that he's Spider-man and he's losing his powers, can you help me?"

I somehow feel that this Connors won't be as warm and loving as the one from the Raimi series or the comics. There's a certain rispyness about him I think. I don't know...

Besides, if he's playing a larger part (Norman Osborn is pulling the strings), I doubt he'll be that good anyway...

That would be a brilliant setup! I really hope Connors doesn't end up in jail. For all we know, maybe that scene isn't in the end and it's not even really a prison, but someone is holding Connors captive

Yeah but then having his wife and son in the film would be pointless then.

i suspect he will go jail, but lets face it would you rather they do a raimi and kill off the character or just send him to jail for whatever amount of time

How about forgiveness! Connors can then transform into the Lizard and jump away!

thats because the way the trailer has shown him is mostly as a bad guy which is the selling point for a trailer lets face it, im sure there is more to his character in the movie

i suspect it will be something like he starts off as a warm kind husband and father then further out in the film after he injects himself and grows back his arm he starts to slowly act different as film goes on which effects conners family life and peter will begin to notice the change
