I really wish Mangold could have released this film in black and white.

The DNA taken by Essex Corp at the end of Apocalypse makes me think that the clone/genetic offspring angle will be maintained.

interesting fact: "X23: Innocence Lost" also starts with a carrying case which contains Wolverine's DNA and which is secured after Wolverine escapes the Weapon X facility.

Maybe the blu-ray will come with the option to watch the film in black & white. Kinda like what they did with Mad Max

The black and white is only for the marketing, i dunno why it being black and white is something to make a fuss about? to make it look more gritty? dark?

no thats not why lol

It gives it a very oldschool western vibe and a hauntingly beautiful aesthetic and represent German expressionism which james mangold said was an influence in his filming style for this film.

Genetic offspring, sure. That doesn't mean you need to angst about where the Asian in the child came from, for example. The easy answer being "she's his child via test tubes".

I'm all for comic accuracy but do people want to see the X-men slaughtered (on screen or in narrative)?

A whole movie was devoted to the X-men being picked off one by one by Sentinels a mere 2 years ago...

Absolutely not, and especially not at the hands of Wolverine. It would be a terrible idea, in my opinion.

Good point. I hope you're right.

Nope. I'm not for that. I feel like it'll take away from THIS story. I'm all for them X-Men and most mutants in general being taken out due to the Legacy Virus but I'm not for Logan or even as some have suggested, Professor X, being the one to kill them.

I don't think it should be 100% comic book accurate. I don't see the benefit from that, that's simple copy-paste expensive cosplaying 'some drawings'. Offcourse there is stuff that has to be canon, but that doesn't mean everything should be.

I like seeing artistic freedom and above all, it needs to be entertaining. knowing 100%what will happen is not entertaining. It's really good craftmanship if they are able to combine several stories into a single one and still have their very own character, not flooded, and give it a little of their own along the way.

I gather people want the X-Men to be killed by wolverine, xavier or X23 because it would be a dark edgy thing for them to do and obviously because of the old man logan comic but honestly if you get away from thinking about the comics and edginess it probably wouldn't be a good idea to do that to any of these characters as a journey closer for wolverine

There are dozens of other reasons but that is the most simplest reason why it wouldn't be a good idea

I just don't believe he could kill all of the xmen. The xmen are a powerful team and it doesn't matter how much they hesitated they would not be so flabbergasted as to let wolverine murder them all.

Miller originally envisioned Fury Road as Black and white. Has Mongold expressed the same sentiments for Logan?

My real concern with this film is that it's set in 2024, just a year after the happy ending of DoFP. If it was five years later, that would seem more logical.

One year for Logan's healing to start leaving big scars? One year for Xavier to be in a care home with Alzheimer's? One year for all the other X-Men to be missing/dead?

It just doesn't feel right.

During the trailer commentary Mangold did for empire he didn't specify how much later this was than DOFP, just that it was set after it. Maybe that 2024 thing wasn't right? As if it was surely he would have said that rather than just 'later than DOFP.'

Well Mangold did say they were "beyond the epilogue of dofp". Im. Im taking that by "beyond" he means that happy ending is a distance memory now.

Also someone did mention that the year 2024 is the when the limo/car he drives was made? It hasn't been confirmed when it takes place, right?!
