Logan Logan - news & discussion - Part 3

Logan is part of a film series. Expecting some sort of continuity, impact and connection to the previous and future films is very much expected. Especially to someone who watches these films over and over again.

And this excuse of creative freedom shouldn't even be brought up. Okay it could lead to maybe a good film but I think they are just lazy to tie things up. I mean how hard is it to not let two separate Calibans exist. Oh because the other was a small role and it doesn't matter and no one will notice. Okay it could lead to maybe a good film but never mind if it undermines future movies in the series and just confuse everyone with whatever is happening in the series as long we get in a good film.

We are in movie number ten now. I just wonder how messy the series would be by the 20th film from 20th century fox.

Yeah again, they should just say Cable's been time-hopping and changing stuff throughout all of the films, would at least partly explain the wonkiness of this continuity

CABLE: "Think Charles... when did you meet Erik?... Logan? How long has Jubilee been a teenager? What happened after Liberty Island?? You know these events aren't lining up right in your mind. That's because I've been there, protecting mutantkind... I've stopped Apocalypse more times than you can count."

I like this. I like this very much.

"And Charles...don't even get me started on your so-called step sister 'Mystique.'"

It's funny, because people said that there's no point in making anymore X-Men films after DOFP came out because we knew that everyone makes it out alive in the end.

Or they could have continued the X-Men's story in that new future with the characters that we saw. Fox just chose not to.

About Caliban...

Apparently only Mutants with healing factors are still around.

Still that doesn't answer why there needed to be two Calibans. It is just one of million reasons why the continuity is such a mess because the filmmakers themselves especially those who have been around before the 2010s are letting this happen again and again.

Honestly, they could make 14 Calibans for all I care. As long as the character is used in a way that serves the story and is given a good portrayal by a talented actor, that's all that's important to me. That's all that should be important to anyone who is a fan of the character.

**** this continuity. If changes are made, good ones, what's the problem?

For example... if they make X Force and cast I dunno, Emily Blunt as Psylocke and give her a proper role with a real characterisation, who in their right mind will complain about continuity?

The only people who complain about that **** are melts and they shouldn't be taken seriously. End of story.

This, so much this :wowe:

I too agree with Roose and Endless.

My X-Men marathon consists of X2, First Class and DOFP so I don't really care either.

Well there are two Psylockes in the comics. A Asian and a white one.:woot:

And that was a good decision.

Yeah Apocalypse clearly outgrossed all X-Men films and encouraged the masses to watch the latest film.

*Looks at X1's box office numbers in North America then compare it Apocalypse's* Well maybe not everywhere. Lol.

So MCU should try to retcon the Quicksilver in Aou? Their version of Mandarin?

Any way, it's not that I am against changes if it will service the character but this habit would just encourage them more to not give justice for the first big screen adaptation of a character since they might think they could always ignore it in the next movie or the third movie and start from scratch like as if the character didn't just Appear in the last movie and no one will care. Which isn't true. It shows how short sighted their over all plan with the series. They might as well start the series from scratch if we are gonna get that for every film.

So can we please get a new Gambit, Rogue, Shadowcat, Iceman, & Colossus who are the same age range as Cyclops & Storm?

And that was a good decision.

doesn't matter if it was or not it was clear back in 2014 the direction they were
going when they erased original trilogy from timeline.anyone who thought after erasing original trilogy from timeline they were doing another film with original
cast were being naive.

Oh yeah because people should think like you do? I mean I've talked to people who have seen that new future ending that wanted to see more of that for the sequel.

And just because Fox plans 1 thing, it doesn't mean that its the only good plan for the series. Apocalypse underperforming is clearly a direct effect of Fox's not so great plan. And with Logan's no X-Men world. That would just drive people away to even care seeing the younger X-Men in the 90s.

This, so much this :wowe:

emma frost in first class is more comic accurate than emma silverfox in origins.why would anyone seriously complain they retcon that.Angel and
Psylocke In Apocalypse than versions In Last stand.anyone would really keep boliver trask out of DOFP because of secretary trask In Last stand.with caliban it looks far more comic accurate version In Logan.

. While the new Emma ended up as a 1 and done character and was killed off screen.

Just so awesome..

Emma could've ended DoFP in 5 minutes. You can't have females important to the plot in FoX movies unless love interest, eye candy, or just for power display

i shouldn't even bother but you act like there isn't any contunity at all between the films and that isn't.Singer tried to honor all the films with DOFP.Mangold with The wolverine is very much spun out of last stand.and singer with apocalypse very much honored with jean grey what ratner did with last stand
only now xavier wasn't trying to control her.Look i would have been fine if they would have just said last stand and origins never happened.

without question they are errors in films.some still attack them even after they erased most of films in DOFP

and what your describing is a reboot something fox and it's team doesn't want to do.If fox rebooted they defently would have wolverine In film.
