I say it shouldn't be a slave to it. And if a story, characterizations or world building demand it, they can alter stuff. Deadpool is a good example.

The Caliban duplication happened as a result of an unco-ordinated approach though. That can't be a good thing, surely?

What harm is there going to be with the two depictions of Caliban? The one featured in Apocalypse was barely a character and there's almost 50 years separating the two. Hell, if it really bothers you, you could just imagine the character played by Stephen Merchant is the other character's son or something.

of only one in logan is caliban from comics.caliban in logna is more comic accurate.

It's a symptom of a larger problem - NO CO-ORDINATION....

they also are destroying what made X-men unique and appealing by trying to turn mutants into celebrated heroes like avengers.we have already seen taste of this in apocalypse and deadpool but confirmed even more by final logan trailer and mangold's interview but no co-ordination is what to get upset about?

I said this before Apocalypse and I'll say it again

The Fox X-Men universe only really works if you view each film as standalone after x3.
They're one-and-dones that have no continuity

now, when viewed that way, each individual film makes a lot more sense

I could honestly not give any less of a **** about how they coordinate and plan these pictures out so long as the finished product results in a good film.

Publishing a comic book is different than throwing parades, building monuments, and having enormous extravaganza parties that we've seen in other films.

Comics are marketed to children and don't young people love taboo things? It really doesn't say anything about the mainstream celebrating the X-Men.

Mangold's comments also suggest mutants are seen like sports stars now.
Apocalypse and deadpool also suggest in new timeline mutants are now celebrated.

Nope. And I don't get why none of them could rename the character especially the Apocalypse version which had 2 scenes in the movie and never revealed his mutant ability. So incompetent.

Charles went into hiding after the "East Coast incident", which appears to have been
an involuntary brain tremor that wiped out the X-Men and their Westchester neighbors.

That's hardcore. So he pulled a
Scarlet Witch. I hope if he gets killed, he would activate the mutants' powers again right after his heart stops beating.

Yeah I don't like that aspect
for 50 years the X-Men's slogan has been "sworn to protect a world that hates and fears them"
so making the world love them kind of completely misses the point

I can view the original trilogy with Wolverine 2 and X4. Especially X4, that's my ultimate X-Men Quadrilogy. Also, no need to watch First Class for introductions since its a given the ones in 1973 are just the younger version.

exactly.i am starting to lose enthusim for so called new timeline.my intrest in logan is due to likely being hugh jackman's final appearance as wolverine
and patrick stewart possable final appearance as xavier.even if jackman
shows up In Deadpool 2 I will still consider this Jackman's swan song.
Wolverine in deadpool 2 would be nothing more than a joke.

unfortully they are losing sight of what made X-Men unique in first place.and the appeal

In future i might just view days of future past as finale of X-men series.especilly since logan confirms films from now on like deadpool and aocalypse will have mutants as celebrated people.

There isn't much reason to watch origins since X-Men and X2 gives you all need to know about wolverine's adamanturm.

The trilogy-even though i don't practuly love last stand, the wolverine and DOFP can create a 5 part epic story if you think mutants shouldn't be celebrated.

X-Men, X2, The Last Stand, The Wolverine and days of Future Past. That's a great line of films! Even if the third one drags them a little but the last two makes that movie a little better.

I am saying it again and will say it again, the movie they should have done after Dofp is the one that starts where future Dofp ended. Not Apocalypse, not when the X-Men don't exist anymore. Now this Logan movie could end up great, but as X-Men fan, a good or great Wolverine movie isn't just enough for me. I want to see the X-Men!

It is possible to be both. See how racism still exists despite all the sports stars.

For me it's certainly not a bad thing as long as Caliban in Logan does the job.

except they won't.it's obvious from deadpool, apocalypse, and now logan.

See the thing is just because Logan says something doesn't mean its gonna play out the same in any other movies since its unlikely that other X-Men, new mutants, deadpool, gambit and X-Force are gonna follow that same pattern because everyone will be doing their own stories.

There will be many more films and a tv show to come that take place before logan so they won't all be doing the same thing.

regardless X-Men as team sworen to defend a world that hates and fears them is gone in new timeline.future X_men films will be prequels to future ending of DOFP/Logan.and X-men are just a big joke for any film involving deadpool.

A reboot rather done by fox or given to disney wouldn't change this fact.they would be even less sworn to defend world that hates and fears them over at disney than they are in post DOFP Fox films.

Intrest in logan is due to susposed swan songs of jackman and stewart.but after that it's like why bother if they aren't true to essence of X-Men and mutants.there are reasons why people were attracted to X-Men and not avenger or ff or justice league.and they are doing away with all that.

just like fans can always have comics in their collection to read when marvel still cared about X-Men.for me it's stories that go from 1960's to 2000's.we
will always have OT,The wolverine, and DOFP to watch on DVD/Blu-ray/Digital to enjoy X_Men as they were suspose to be.yeah i know some will say because they won't in colorful costumes they weren't real X-men.

we have seen post dofp mutants more accepted in past, present, and future.doudtful that will change.X-force will just be extension of deadpool.
Still up in air if gambit is made.and who knows about new mutants.

I don't think we should let the timeline stuff bother us, guys. If Logan is an amazing film, let just take it for what it is. We all loved DoFP and there are a bunch of discrepancies in that movie, for example they didnt even bother explaining how Charles was alive and how Magneto has his powers.

It was pretty obvious, at the end of X3, that Magnetos power loss was only temporary.
