Logan is the only one who can be around Charles thanks to his healing powers. The rest of the X-Men can't be in close proximity near him, so I wouldn't say they abandoned him, Logan is just taking responsibility and taking care of him.

Before anyone says what about Jean, sure I guess. But this film is about Logan.

I would like it if they had the Shi'ar depower Jean like in the original ending of The Dark Phoenix. That would be able to explain why she was helpless.

Caliban is a tracker, an early detection system for other mutants. None of the other X-Men have tracking capabilities. Or at least, ones that would make sense within this story.

The way it's stated ("including several of the X-") implies that not all of those seven were X-Men, so it gives them room to manoeuvre.

Basically. Not that I suspect we'll be seeing any X-Men films post-2029. But, if a Laura film gets greenlighted, it doesn't rule out any familiar characters appearing in that film.

Didn't notice it either. That's a smart way of getting certain shots in camera without having to cut away for sure.

With mangold saying he was originally thinking of opening the movie with a scene of the Westchester incident all i can think is how much that would have sucked for these characters.

We can praise mangold for the movie but what a tragic decision to make for these characters.

I think that's Logan's claws, not the one she normally uses.
