How can you feel sad for fictional people who died if you don't even know who they are.

Its more of what the result is then whether you are sad or not.

I dunno what mangold had in mind in the scene he was thinking of shooting for it but if any X-Men appeared in it then they would be there pretty much just to suffer and die.

Ha ha Dafne is great

I just don't see the point.

Yeah after seeing the film the sort of desert color palette plays a prominent role in the film. Also the film it took some inspiration from Shane was shot in technicolor.

If Logan was more film noire in tone yeah black and white would make sense. So I don't see the film experience gaining much in black and white.

As long as the black & white version is included with the regular theatrical version because I do not want to double dip

Just saw this tonight and it was fantastic.

That's saying something for me because I was so burnt out on the Wolverine character from the incessant Fox overdose of him over the last 20 years that I practically had no interest in this movie. The word of mouth got me in the theater.

9/10

Two Fox movies in successive years that I thought were great? What is this new reality?

I have to say, several parts I thought were way too graphic. Even though it was rated R, Jesus, some directors of R-rated movies know their limits. Some violent moments are cut off camera to establish someone had been brutally murdered.

No one likes to see a murdered child. Jesus.

I'm surprised the movie got released in China. A friend told me though that 15 minutes had been cut out. It worries me slightly just not knowing to what extent of which scenes were cut out. Hopefully just split second shots of the violence.

I saw DOFP in China, but I don't remember if a few particular scenes were cut out however, I downloaded the film online some time after the film was released when it was available. Then I bought the official Chinese DVD release some months later, and on the DVD, snippets were cut out of the film. Mystique's scene with the Vietnam official in the hotel room where she chokes him with her foot was cut out, and Wolverine's brief nude shot when first waking up in 1973.

I thought I remembered seeing these scenes at the Chinese cinema, but I don't remember whether I did or not. All I remember is the DVD had that one shot and the Mystique scene cut out.

"Kingsman: The Secret Service" only cut out the church killing sequence in China. The rest of the film hadn't been edited out. Personally, I didn't have a problem with that, as I found that scene to be meaningless and long.

Scenes like Wolverine's nude scene or Mystique being cut out frustrates me to an extent.

And that's why it was good to include. In the real world people die. This entire movie was filled with things people didn't want to see, and messages people didn't want to hear. That was kinda the point.

That was the only memorable scene in the movie for me.

Too graphic??? I deducted points off this movie for not being graphic enough. If the violence in this movie bothered you that much, I don't think you're cut out for R-rated action films.

Well I had no problem with the violence in Deadpool. Again though, Logan was way more violent than Deadpool. Furthermore, I don't think it needed to be that ultra-violent. It doesn't mean you have to go every bit as humanly possible to make it excessively ultra-violent to tell the story. It seems that was their main aim in this movie. I think telling a good story is more important than violence and action-destruction--just for the sake of violence and action.

Because this movie wasn't just rated R, this was taking the R rating to the next level in terms of the violence. Having said that though, I know there are other films that are even more violent, but most of those movies are practically just violence-porn. I'm not saying though that the story in Logan wasn't good, which it was, but I really think the violence was definitely over-the-top and unnecessary at times. Showing the decapitated head roll over for instance. More than that though. The child though...if you're advocating that it needed to be more graphic and violent than that, then I think that's actually mental. Was it not violent enough already?

I had a problem with the extended cut of "The Wolverine" being rejected a PG-13 rating by the MPAA because it was considered too violent, hence it would receive an R rating for the theatrical release. Unless it also had to do with the two additional times Logan said "f**k". Personally, the extended cut wasn't that violent to me.

Deadpool was rated R and didn't go that far with the violence and didn't make it the central focus. In other words, I mean it wasn't action-porn in spite of the R rating. Logan though...well.

Logan was appropriately vilolent given a character whose main offensive ability are his adamentium razor sharp claws. Severed heads, stabbing and cut limbs are to be expected, at least from any fan that has been paying attention for decades.

I just don't see the point.

Anyone who wants a movie to be black and white could just use the TV remote control and change the color settings.

Also those black and white stills from the movie look so bland and lifeless without the actual color being shown.

You're missing my point. Logan didn't take the R rating to the next level. There are MUCH worse R rated movies out there. You've obviously never seen any Evil Dead movies, Braindead, hell even Saving Private Ryan is worse than Logan as far as graphic violence is concerned.

Again, my point is, if you truly feel that Logan is too much, R-rated action movies are not for you.

Yeah, that's the key thing. I would assume it would since the Rogue Cut also included the theatrical cut of Days of Future Past.

Back in like October/November, I was on board for a black and white Logan movie. But after seeing it a couple times, I have no interest in a black and white version.

I disagree and I'll decide for myself whether certain movies are for me or not regardless of the rating. The MPAA rating system is dated and is long over-due for an update. Some films get the R-rating just for two uses of the word, "mother-f**ker" which feels unjust. Other films are more justified with it's R-rating. Forget the ratings, the R-rated movies aren't all rated for the same reasons. Language or nudity can be one of the reasons why. But "When Harry Met Sally" was rated R for 3 uses of the word, "f**k"...but I mean, why? That's ridiculous.

Logan's story hasn't always just been about his claws and killing, while integral to his story, it's not the center. I still think you missed my point. Even though it was rated R, I don't think they had to go that far with the violence. I think Deadpool was about the same route they needed to go for this movie or slightly less. "The Quick and the Dead" also an R-rated film...the Blade films. Whatever though, good discussion.

Logan doesn't have anything close to the amount of blood, gore or "disgusting" visuals of the Blade films.

Which is funny because Deadpool was low enough on violence that in Belgium you only had to be 12 to see the movie. Though I just checked and Logan is also 12+. I think both were generally 15/16+ in Europe though depending on the country.

Irrelevant when discussing the actual merits of this film.

My opinion differs. I think the utter brutality shown was necessary to get the tone across. Doesn't make your opinion wrong for you.
I think Deadpool was about the same route they needed to go for this movie or slightly less.
Since Deadpool was somewhat of a comedy, and this was absolutely the opposite, the tone (and how you hammer it home) is totally different. Not even a comparison to me.

not so much the blood but the imagery

[BLACKOUT]seeing the slayed family(especially the son) by x24 was more disturbing than anything blade[/BLACKOUT]

Hello everyone, can somebody tell how many minutes are the credits at the end of the movie, the wikipedia says the whole movie is 137 minutes.

About 10 minutes.
