Private college?
I'm sick and ****ing tired of answering the phone at work(you know, a place of business)and the person expects me to speak Spanish.
I'm on the verge of cussing the next one out.

I hate it when people say things like "this is just my opinion, and you're entitled to yours." Well no **** I'm entitled to my opinion. Stop trying to walk on eggshells and just say what you want to say.

I agree... it's SPANISH that should be pressed as option #1, NOT English...
I don't give a s**t what some say, but it's ENGLISH that's the main spoken language in this country, NOT Spanish or any other foreign tongue...
if you've emigrated from a foreign country, speaking your own language is fine, but if you're living in America now, get up off your ass and learn how to speak the native language...
It's even better when they demand to speak to your manager, and tell them to fire you for not knowing it.
Same here. It's ridiculous for others to come to our country and expect us to learn there language.
exactly... and when you DON'T speak to them in their language, THEY have the nerve to get angry at YOU for it... and then they run around like a chicken with their head cut off all pissed off about it because they can't get anyone to understand them...
well gee and oh well...
learn the f**king language already and you won't have that problem...
One time at work I took a call and the guy asked if I spoke Spanish and I told him no. What's his response..."well why not?".
I wanted to reach through the phone and slap him at that moment.
I don't have a problem with people speaking their own language in our country when they're with family and friends, regardless of what the language is, but when you are dealing with a business of some kind, you need to know English.
When I was a wee lad, do you know what I did on road trips sitting in the back seat? Listened to whatever my parents listened to, slept, or read.
I know kids know with iPads. And not like 12 or 13 like 8 and under.![]()

I looked outside the window and used my ****ing imagination.
A lot of times the phrase "Kids these days" is just hyperbole. But not in cases like this.
I hate how someone thought it would be funny to take out the screws out of my office chair. I lean back and I tumble hee, hee. Anyway, long story short they conveniently lose the screws and I'm stuck sitting in a backless chair waiting for a replacement and to top it all off I have a lump on my head the size of Mt. Kilimanjaro.
I didn't realize so many people felt so strongly about others speaking Spanish in a predominantly English area. I never saw the big deal. Hell, I wish I spoke Spanish or at least remembered half the stuff I was taught in my high school classes.
I admit that did sound pretty funny.
I know what you mean and not to sound discriminating because my parents are Hispanics but I work at HSBC bank which mostly deals with the Asian market and I don't know how these people survive in their everyday life when they can't speak the language.exactly... and when you DON'T speak to them in their language, THEY have the nerve to get angry at YOU for it... and then they run around like a chicken with their head cut off all pissed off about it because they can't get anyone to understand them...

Yeah for me it was either listen to whatever cassette tapes my parents had or just fall asleep while looking out the window.
