In his new Esquire interview, Hardy mentions he's signed for 3 more Max movies but it's all dependent on box office. He also pretty much blows off the interviewer trying to dig about rumors he and Charlize didn't get along.

I can't really link to it because Hardy swears like a sailor...

Just because people don't get along doesn't mean they can't work together for a huge paycheck.

Wow, never thought of Charlize as Captain Marvel but that would be badass.

She's my top pick for Carol... But the casting thread on the Capt. Marvel boards are filled with a bunch of posters to whom Theron is just "too old" to play a character that is an Air Force Col. and U.S. Intelligence Officer. So now I hope that Fury Road hits big, everyone and their brother clamors for her to play Carol... And that WB casts her in a DC film.

Oh, of course. Because 39 is ancient, even if you don't look a day above 30.

I haven't gone on the Captain Marvel boards in a while, but I'm sure the casting there is filled with people clamoring for every geek goddess out there (Katee Sackhoff, Yvonne Strahovski). And don't get me wrong; I like those actresses too, but sometimes it seems like people around here think that the only actors who should be considered for superhero roles are ones that have appeared in sci-fi/action stuff before and played a similar character.

How is 39 too old for a Colonel? Someone supposed to be believable as a military officer shouldn't look like a teenage girl playing dress up at ComicCon.

Yeah but all female characters have to be HAWT you see, and HAWTNESS ends at age 35.

The interview said the budget was $150 million. It seems like they were guesstimating but if it is that high its somewhat concerning as I think its a bit of a long shot it makes money with that kind of a budget.

I do wonder what the MAD MAX trilogy's impact was overseas in non English speaking countries? When I see certain anime I think that in Japan at least it may have been well received but I don't know about other countries, especially in the current Asian market. Any one have some insight?

Still hoping this movie could give Charlize a Captain Marvel push.

I think Charlize fee might price her out of the role.

Theron is frequently on the top ten list of highest paid actresses and Marvel generally don't like to spend big money on their actors. Marvel could think why pay 15 million for Theron when they can probably get a large number of other talented actresses on for the role cheaper.

It features Joey Lawrence as "Maniacal" Matt Rocksteady, Brooke Hogan as Frenziosa and Mark Singer as Important Joe.
