Do you think the Joker's look will be makeup that he applies himself?

I know that if they make the white skin and green hair nothing more than makeup and dye then I will be extremely pissed. I expect a lot of fanboys will also be up in arms.

it seems from the pic they showed
it will be makup

It HAS to be makeup otherwise it won't be releastic but yet you have to put something on his face that makes look like a Joker, to show that he is just a simple thug with a clown makeup...and I think I should be the gash smile.

Just one question: how the hell can is skin and his hear be permanently white and green?:wow:

Ain´t no big deal to me whether it´s makeup that he simply applies or it´s permanent

I'll be honest with you - I don't care. As long as its white skin, greenish hair, and a red smile. Whatever method is used to get there is fine with me as long as it makes sense and has elements of realism which would mean at least part of the look has to be makeup applied by the Joker himself.

I don't care, either way it'll be badass as long as they keep the red lips, green hair, white/grey skin (which looks like they did) i'll be fine cause i trust nolan, ledger, wb and company

The Joker having bleached skin and hair isn't realistic while a guy who dresses up as a bat, uses a cape batglider, zipline, ninja throwing batarangs, miraculously never breaks a bone jumping off buildings or gets shot in his completely exposed mouth is realistic? Something in that logic doesn't seem quite right.

YES

I think it should all be a chemical reaction; I hated how Joker applied lipstick and makeup on his face like The Dark Knight Returns.:cmad: By the way Ledger looks so far, the white skin and green hair would come from the chemical bath and the smile should be brutally carved in a Chelsea/Glassgow manner (or that could be a chemical defect as well; it would be unrealistic, but its better than lipstick).

I don't want to see Joker powdering his face and dying his hair. I always liked the Joker BECAUSE he wasn't just a guy in makeup. It made him more creepy for me as a kid for that to be his natural face.

The most they should have is him looking in the mirror and noticing how much of a clown he looks like with the large cut-smile on his face (to go along with his green hair and pale skin) and then having him make a big smile across it with lipstick while cackling madly. Or something to that effect.

Agreed; but remember, Joker doesn't look like a clown, he look's like a Joker.

they should make him look like bozo the clown

i think his face will be white permanently, via some acident. They shouldn't explained though.

The red in the lips should be self applied lipstick and the green in his hair should be perma too. Maybe a part of the accident or his obsession with clowns made him bleach his hair green with a custommade chemical that stains it permanently. If it ends up being all self applied I'll be kinda disappointed.

Agreed.

To me, one of the most intriguing parts of the Joker (aside from his psychology) is the fact that this isn't what he chooses to look like, it's what he is, and he embraces it.

the results of this poll dissappoint me greatly.

Seriously, a Joker who's responsible for his own appearance completely changes the essence of the character. Joker's skin and hair MUST be permanent, otherwise it's just some jerk in a clown costume.

Besides, if it's self-applied, that means any scene in Arkham or in court will be without the make-up. do you really want that?

hell no...

can fear toxin cause you to go albino and sprout a chia pet on your head and pop out lips like angelina?

as long as he resembles the joker I dont give a f**k

Personally I think characterization is a whole lot more important than look. He can look like the comic character come to life, but if he's just some chump in a halloween get-up then he's not the Joker.

besides, if it's self-applied he wont look like the Joker the whole movie. He's mentioned as being under police custody a couple of times in the sides, so there's no way they would let him keep the make-up on.

I agree with the skin, but I can deal with the hair being a dye job. If we have to sacrifice for a little bit of plausibility, I could live with the chemical bath bleaching everything white, and Joker just "finishing" off the last touches.

The smile doesn't really matter as much to me as the green hair and white skin.

I wouldn't miss the red smile in scenes where he's in custody, but you really have a point. If it's just makeup, then, for a seemingly large part of the movie, he'll just be a jerk with a scar on his lips.
