Because they are making 3 movies per year and they've already got 3 dates before August for 2020, maybe we'll get a fourth that year.

By the time 2022 finishes, we might already have 13 movies post JL, at least, the DCU is either done and dusted, or it's rebranded itself enough in the public eye that another team up film becomes a natural progression

Yeah I’ve said for a while that the next one needs to feel like a natural progression. Building the villains up for a team up feels like a no brainer IMO.

Aquaman will give us Black Manta

WW2 will give us Cheetah

The Flash will give us....reverse flash? Captain cold?

GLC COULD give us sinestro

I’m thinking the next time we see Superman, if not in Shazam, will be in JL2.
Which is what I assume the Legion of Doom stuff is leading up to.

I guess we’ll know if The LOD & JL2 are still in the plans when Aquaman comes out.

Before the box-office disappointment of JL and before Walter Hamada's takeover and a change in plans by him- to focus more on solos. That Lex/Deathstroke scene was added quite late in the game (as Eisenberg has said.) But I think a lot changed since then, after JL's release.

A JL2 that soon is too idealistic, I feel. Studios try to move away from something reminding them of a recent failure (such as putting off another GL movie). I just don't think we will be getting a JL2 anytime soon, or even another teamup movie after what happened with JL.

I think it's just about restoring faith and as I've said before garnering interest from the audiences for the villains teaming up. I don't think it's in the agenda right now but I feel it could naturally progress to the JL vs LOD film as the film's keep going and if they're successes.

For me I think they'd probably treat it like a whole new thing. It wouldn't be called Justice League 2, maybe they'd simply call it JL, JL Rebirth, Justice League Rebirth, JLA etc. So many options.

That’s why I’m suggesting that it be kept entirely to after credits scenes.
The story doesn’t have to be influenced by it at all.
It’s just tying together characters that are already being used and developed.
Hinting at a future for a character after the movie ends.

I think if they have a rough plan for 2023-ish (I mean come on, Hamada's team must be thinking about how to build towards an Avenger-que movie sometime down the line), they'd just focus on solo films for the next 13-15 films from 2018-2022, and when they're happy with the results and there's a demand for it, they could set the LOD in 2023 but start building those little bonus scenes in 2022, no point building it up NOW since it's so far away, but I think if they can get the project going then 3-4 bonus scenes a year beforehand should be quite a cool build up.

That’s why I said make it a natural progression I’m not suggesting that they make the film now. I’m talking about doing it down the line, they could see how the next few films are receieved then if it’s going well start doing some credits teases to build it up.

This is one reason I want the next solo Superman to be a Metropolis story where Lex is involved in the creation of Parasite and the Metallo to take on the Man of Steel. I see it as Lex’s LOD phase I.

We can say it'll only be a hint/suggestion/after-credits scene but then those scenes start promising stuff and get people's hopes up. Just like that Deathstroke scene did in the JL movie. When really I prefer to see Deathstroke in the Batman movies. And why can't Black Manta continue on in Aquaman sequels? Or Cheetah's story can be resolved or continue in the WW movies? There's no reason you can't have both though. Also I don't want to see the same villains keep popping up in the solo sequels. That lacks variety IMO. Getting these villains ready for a big team up movie by using them on one solo prior to that will be enough character development.

Also to me Deathstroke is a Titans villain not a Batman one and there's no reason Sinestro can't be a villain in a JL Film and continue to be in the Green Lantern movies, after all Loki was in the Avengers aswell as all the Thor 'solo' films.

Probably true, although I seem to recall there have been a couple of occasions where the Legion 'swapped partners' and took on each others nemeses with some degree of success.

People should be worrying about an MOS2 first before wanting to use Superman movies to create villains for a LOD movie. I mean, we don't even have solid plans for a Superman movie and people are already making plans for his villains!

What I want is good solo movies that focus on the individual heroes, their worlds, and their villains.
I want no cameos or references to previous movies.
I want movies that could basically be seen as outside of a shared universe.
I want movies that aren’t just a step towards something bigger.
I really want them to basically forget a shared universe for awhile and focus on making good solos that develop the heroes before bringing them together again.

But I think that after credits scenes that collect the villains that are already being used in the movies would be a simple and easy way to keep things connected without forcing or rushing things.
