LOL "only" 115m more is quite fun, dude. Please. :)

The point is that WB wanted to greenlit a SR sequel at the end of the summer, the box office wa at least decent, but the movie failed even to become a hit even in the home entertainment market and a sequel would have been too risky.

I'm sure that far more people will buy MOS on dvd and blue ray.

I think it'll be huge on DVD/Blu Ray

$305M is the highest it hits now.

It will be $270M by Sunday. They will get it to $300M. They have the juice to do so after its third weekend recovery.

I think I agree with you. The other day I was going to post that $305-310 million seems to be where it will end up and probably high $400's OS. WB will undoubtedly be happy with combined total and I think there is a chance it'll do just as well as IM3 when they are released to DVD/Bluray.

What's it at worldwide right now?

Well I hope it's announced soon and that we get one. Idk how much MOS will end up with at the end of its run but I can't see it getting too much more than it has right now (re: won't reach 700).

We'll be sure to remind you of that little prediction when it crosses $700 million. Once it opens in Brazil we will have a better sense of what the ultimate WW BO will be after that. Also if it crosses $600 million or comes close early next week you might be rethinking your #'s.

Honestly for some of the reasons i mentioned earlier $300 million domestic will be more important than 700m ww if only one of those targets can be reached.

It's not important. They got what they wanted/needed. They're very happy with the grosses here and overseas.

well, I'm happy if this just reaches $270m, so reaching $300m would just be icing on the cake!! :woot:

Of course their happy but $300m domestic is considered one of those blockbuster milestones so i'm sure they'd make a big deal if MoS did reach it. MoS breaking June's OW was pretty highly publicized.

They didn't release a press release for nothing lol.
Yes, quite pleased
I wonder when a date will be announced for the sequel.
Didn't you say on Twitter you thought WB could make an announcement right before the start of Comic Con ?

The beautiful part of this all is that by the end of it's run MoS will have made over 3/4th domestically what SR made worldwide.

The foreign numbers are just a nice bonus.

There's gotta be something at Comic Con surely? Unless Robinov leaving delays any announcements

It's just strange how some people think its flopping and that some wanted it too. It's all bizarre really.

Are there still people doubting a sequel?

I guess I can understand the nervousness until there is something officially announced, but I truly believe the sequel was going to go ahead regardless of the box office numbers provided they weren't horrible.

Yeah definite nervousness I'd say although there's those that don't want a sequel from what I'm reading.

WB is looking at Man Of Steel as a whole. I think the Box Office, Promotional tie-in money, merchandise sales and DVD/Blu-Ray Sales will overall be viewed as a worthwhile investment by Warner Bros.
