No. The people who predicted 1bil are being asinine and forget that reboots traditionally have never made a billion (maybe this changes in the future, who knows?). Why would you assume people think of Superman Returns as a precursor to Man of Steel when you clearly see 2 different actors portraying Superman, and two different suits? I don't think people are that dumb to assume so. Furthermore, that's why your example doesn't really work, considering BB was a prequel to TDK, whereas SR isn't a prequel to MoS. So that argument can't be made effectively.
And secondly, Batman Begins didn't really do much to convince people to watch the sequel considering the difference in worldwide money (370mil vs. 1bil), despite the positive reviews (and even then I wouldn't compare it to MOS, considering 2005 dollars is probably a hell of a lot different than 2013 dollars). TDK was successful due to the fact that it transcended comic book genre conventions and became a crime drama that happened to involve Batman. And of course, Ledger's performance revolutionized how we saw the Joker on-screen. TDK caught lightning in a bottle so to speak.
I am brazilian, and the protests are not having any effects on BO. Hell, they didn't even have effects on confederations cup attendance.
500M - 600M and up to around 700M if WOM is good.
Good to know
You obviously stated many times the movie suck and WOM sucks... so, don't try to keep revising up... Be a man, stand your ground..
And your number is 500M...
Didnt Tobias say the most the movie would make would be about $275?
It looks like MOS will exceed that amount quite easily
I think Superman is not too viable anymore and that what SR made is about as good as any Superman film can do. He's one of the most well-known characters but not one of the most popular. You can lead a horse to water but you can't force the horse to drink.
Nolan's name attached should be worth something. Just pulling out a figure - say 20 million.
Based on SR then, I'd expect to see MOS do about 411 million WW.
In any event, WB had already decided to shelve Superman films because they are not financially feasible. No one seems to be expecting much from MOS. Maybe 400 million? When it costs 200 million to make and maybe 100 million to market that is a bad investment.
Here are two of Tobias predictions for his beloved Superman and MOS
Has anyone noticed if Tobias is posting on other Superman sites or forums?
His style is very obvious and he must be doing it somewhere as he cant seem to help himself![]()
Tobias is the best deadpan comedian in the world today. I applaud his contributions.

Yeah I remember him predicting $500-600m ww. He was consistently lowballing things. I've been on the complete opposite end of the spectrum and have consistently said $800+m ww (I'm sticking to it btw). I may end up revising down in 2-3 more weeks. Really depends on how the next two weeks go.
Man Of Steel is on fire.
