Here's the updated box office:

Budget: $225,000,000

Domestic: $277,490,000 as of Jul. 12 2013 (46.8%)
+ Foreign: $315,600,000 as of Jul. 7 2013 (53.2%)

= Worldwide: $593,090,000

In Release: 29 days / 4.1 weeks

So;

Friday:
$1,320,000 (estimate)

300 million seems impossible now. It should end up at 285 or so.

Is the date on the foreign box correct? I thought it was 315 million as of Jul 12th?

It should end up at 620 plus WW when all is said and done.

No way. Unless WB does the slow-walk which is hard to do from 280 - 285 million.

You're a put on right?? I'm sorry but there can't be any way you are this dumb. It'll likely be at $620 Million WW sometime next week.

It is ALIVE!!!:yay: "Another" revised new prediction from Tobias. Alert the media.

I'm guessing math was not one of his better subjects at school, that's if he has actually left school . How the heck could it end its run at $620 million WW?? It just opened in Brazil has yet to open in Japan and without OS BO updates since last Sunday it's already at $595 million!!

I'm horrible at math so I don't pretend I am Einstein ....but numbers are numbers

Depends on the WW figure. I assume it is through 7/12 like the domestic figure and not through 7/7 as the poster listed.

Not really. My prediction prior to release was 250 - 300 million domestic. Looks like it will end up at around 285 domestic plus change if lucky.

Bottom line MOS will not make the summer winner column at BOM and also not the summer loser list.

It performed OK but not great. No one knows but ending up a few 10 million north of 600 million is not what WB was hoping for is my guess.

Sequel talk is pretty muted now as in not a lot of stories. No more fast-tracking for 2015 (which is good). 2016 at the earliest.

I wrote a nice letter to WB and got a nice reply. They said my letter was intriguing and had been forwarded to Tjuihara. Don't know if I believe that.

They went on to complement my suggestions and added that if WB decides to make a sequel they can't use any of my ideas for legal reasons.

So WB is not in a rush and if 2016 is now the earliest date for a sequel then we may not get a formal announcement until 2014. WB may wait to see how the DVD does.

Wow that guy...lol. I'm hopefully going for my second viewing in a bit(finally) to help add to these totals!

"Intriguing" is code for WTF.

Tobias you need to use this button on your calculator, + Not -

Its down to maybe 3 million this weekend. Half that next weekend. Dropping to under 1 million weekdays next week is likely. No way this gets to 300 million unless WB pulls what they did with SR.

Why don't you go and have a nice lie down and come back in two weeks to tell us that it'll top out at $297 million Domestic and it it only do $650 million WW and we'll all hail you as The genius of prognostication.

Trolly troll is trollishly trolling.

Boring.

No. Honest evaluation.

Just read a late review from the Boone Times - Soaring To Medocrity" was the lead. The reviewer wasn't impressed. This is pretty much the typical review and no way IMO these negative takes on the film will not impact WB.

Plus, within a month or two Marvel had announced sequels to Ironman and Thor and Avengers. Cap too I think.

WB is not doing that.

I feel they were shaken by the reviews. it clearly hurt the BO.

One could argue that, as SR would have been a drag on an SR2, MOS will be a drag on an MOS2.

The good news is that it seemingly will not be rushed. 2016 at the earliest.

I think WB is going to demand changes. Heck there is talk of doing a prequel instead of a sequel?!

I am still not convinced the full team will return if they do a sequel.

The film editing team must go IMO. I'd drop Goyer too.

The Tomb Raider syndrome could be in play for MOS2 unless WB delivers a close to great CBM movie next time. The suits at WB know this - I am sure they all read Forbes which has been critical of the film and warned about pitfalls waiting a sequel.

WB SURELY wants a film that can reach the big LEAGUES - 800 MILLION PLUS OR MORE. with business as usual on an MOS 2 I don't think that is possible.

Hats off to BOM - they predicted 290 domestic and 360 OS. Very close on domestic and 10 or 20 million high on OS but BOM came closer than all the rest.

Thank GAWD. This thread was lacking for a few days. The return of Tobias. He awaited to strike at the PERFECT time! Lmao, it was only a matter of when the numbers started to drift:woot: So predictable but yet, so entertaining..

I'm cool as a cucumber actually.

It is the end of the line for the domestic BO. 10 million more or so - short of a slow-walk by WB.

OS is about over but for Japan. SR did 11 million. Late August opening hurt it like it will MOS. I think MOS has a shot at 20 million in Japan.

The good thing is WB seems to be reevaluating things - judging from their silence.

I want a great CBM Superman film. MOS was an average CBM film IMO.

Oh if they could convince Peter Jackson to take over. I know, not likely but the longer WB waits on a decision the more chances for major changes in the next film. Changes I feel are absolutely needed.

I guess it's like professional wrestling, people know its fake but it has an entertainment value that some cant resist. Just like Tobias, We know he's just yanking our collective chains, but is so incredibly entertaining that we eagerly anticipate his return.

I try my best to entertain - and tweek a bit too. You guys are so predictable. Many of you anyway.

But I am totally serious about being happy the sequel appears to be getting put off. The next film needs to be rethought and lessons learned from the many deficiencies of MOS. You know you have a problem when Zod is the most interesting character and not Superman in a Supes film. As some critics have noted including the one I posted above.

With the greatest respect Tobias, MOS2 will improve significantly on MOS. You've got to know this. Do you have a bias towards Marvel...I thought we all loved CBM and want the genre to do well?
