. WB's expectations makes them look as if they can't run a film studio. As I said before, they gave Superman a toothbrush and asked him to clean the whole mansion with it in just a few hours. Then when he failed to achieve that, they were in complete shock over it (not the best analogy but you get the .

WB: he is superman. He could do that. Toothbrush is good enough.

:D

why does everyone want the same thing I like the team up ideal
WB is stepping up thier game finally
were gonna get another solo flim but WB need to have the JL off the ground in the next flim form what im hearing they are doing 4 mos movies so I love it

The problem is Superman is barely developed and does not have a status quo as of yet. MOS was more of a setup film for greater things to come. It is a bad idea to do Superman/Batman until you establish that status quo.

Superpowers don't count. :oldrazz:

Because batman is human, superman is alien. People will root n side for the human. It is historically proven that in all movies, the human would overcome all the impossible obstacles to defeat the powerful alien. And most of all the audience buy that. Love that. And wanna see that!!!

In teamup or Versus or whatever, superman would be the clown and the loser. History has shown that.

That's why hate the direction.
So what??
as long as zack Snyder established some part of the JL in the movie shouldn't that be all what matters
many people are saying its just not right to have batman in a superman sequel but how do we know if WF wont be its own trilogy can we just let things unfold
its funny how everything the Marvel universe did got approve by yhe public. but any DC announcements
always have mixed reviews

are u kidding me dude we all know who superman is by now just as well as we all know who batman is
mos is the reboot of superman and I think they developed him enough in mos to move on to the next
superman is not a character that needs 3 movies before he's developed
I think your one of those people whos comparing this movie to the Richard donner way of story telling
let me guess your hoping kryptonite is in the next movie as well
get off of the kryptonite
the only weakness superman needs in this flims
IS FIST!!!!!!!!

Disagree. In the movie, the people barely see him. They don't even know how to call him. Only the military knows he might be a friend. The people n the public know he is a dangerous powerful alien. Therefore, superman is not even known, let alone established.

No. We n I believe him too didnt ask for the green rock. In fact, I dont wanna see it at all.

But with batman... 99% kryptonite will use. Which another reason to hate.

When they were making MOS, they said it clearly that superman universe stands alone because they didnt see batman n superman can go together...

2 years later... WB wanted it.... they changed their plan n stand.

I think Cavill and others are supposed to promote MOS in Japan on August 21st and 22nd. It opens the 30th. We'll see how well it does there.

the public will know the whole story
why?
Because lois will write his story so the world will know
the story she gave to the guy is also some of his development it tells the story of a guy that's form another planet and been helping people for a long time
people will know that was superman and the new story she will tell will be the one of him saving the world and going against his own for the sake of mankind

wouldnt that give the world a reason to trust him?
and don't forget about the story telling of the people he has saves and the ones who saw him defeat zod
so in the next movie I take it some will hate him but most will love him

As you put it... 'will' which means it hasn't happened in the movie of MOS.

but this is the inner conflict that needs to dominate the theme of the movie. The world will mistrust Kal-el and all of Clark's fears of what Pa Kent was telling him all his childhood will smack him fair in the face, unless there is some way he can prove to the world he really can be trusted.
Imagine Lex using Batman to fuel the mistrust, Batman comes to believe Superman is his enemy and we finally get to see Batman's detective skills in action as he plots Superman's death, but in the end they will need a greater enemy and a way to work together to overcome that.
Done well this could showcase the greatest of both, the raw power of superman and the strategic talents of batman. Good stuff.

I prefer to see how superman earn the trust of the people than batman's.

Box office wise it seems last week MoS officially out did both WWZ and Monsters. Considering those two films were massively outgrossing MOS in their opening weekends(mu almost doubling mos' figure) to what I think I'm reading now, it says something about staying power and fall off's. That is if one considers WWZ and MU solid successful blockbusters.

If Pacific Rim falls under MoS that will be something interesting, considering PRim is a film WB pulled MOS out of imax for.

Its a bit silly to be talking about staying power when you are talking about over two months into a movies run. And it should be noted that MoS expanded into dollar theaters during that weekend.

Considering how big a deal was made about this particular films holds, it's worth taking in to consideration. Especially in relation to films released after the fact.

MOS got 122 more theaters while both MU and WWZ lost 474 and 407 theaters respectively that same week end. That's not exactly an achievement considering that unlike MOS none of those films expanded into dollar theaters yet.

I suppose you guys are right(though I'd have to see some sort of stats on the effects of "dollar theaters" doesn't sound all that lucrative). I do have a respect for circumstances though.

I accepted MOS' second weekend circumstances and I should accept these circumstances.
Gaining less than a quarter of the theaters both of your competitors lose does amount to something.

Dont' be ridiculous, WB always intended MOS to kick off the DC universe. They have mentioned this several times. It was never intended to be a stand alone.

Nolan's Dark knight was the one where Superheroes did not exist.

I don't think you have followed the history of MOS. The main reason they were making MOS was because the law suit that if they failed to make one by 2013, they might lose the right of superman for movie. WB never have any solid plan for DC universe. If there was any, it was to be by GL to kick off.

They merely existed as they do in our worlds, on the big screen. Spider-Man 3 poster at the beginning of The Dark Knight.

That's not true, both Nolan and Snyder intended Man of Steel to be standalone (apart from Zack's nod to Chris with WE satellite).

Do we know what it made this weekend yet? I'm guessing around $400,000, as that is what WWZ and MU made and they were all neck and neck last week.

I don't know what anyone here is talking about. Monsters U has been in and out of dollar theaters in my area in a matter of weeks, and WWZ has been in the dollar theaters for at least the last four weeks. MOS just left the main theaters in our area two weeks ago, and has five screens at the dollar theater two weeks into being there.

The Lone Ranger, by comparison, has three showings in the dollar theater.
