Lol. They would go bankrupt long ago if they didn't.

No to sound rude, but please explain to me the logic of the belief that MOS could make TDK/TDKR money.

Another factor that MOS doesn't have good legs is it doesn't make the kids love it / superman. Source : the kids choice awards.

WB doesn't care too much about that. As long as the film makes money, everything is good in their eyes. Plus, a lot of CBM's these days are no longer aimed towards kids that much. The Nolan Batman films are the biggest example. We seem to be shifting to a culture in which superhero films are colorful enough so that you can sell toys but the content of the films themselves are mature and aimed at an older audience.

Because they think MOS a great movie and it should make more than it has. :)

Kids / teenagers are the biggest market. If u wanna have billions making movies, u gotta care much much more.
Anyway, kids/ teenagers love batman.

the only thing WB is looking at is money...if MOS was the disappointment that everyone is claiming it is...why was everyone asked back?
Why was the same director brought back? Why was the same writer brought back? Why was the same cast brought back?
Green Lantern was a disappointment and we aren't hearing about GL2?
SR was a disappointment and we didn't get a SR2?

I for one loved the movie and am for the most part optimistic about the sequel. However, I can understand to a point where people use the word "disappointment." If you think about it, it is like getting a silver or bronze medal at the Olympics. Sure an athlete that gets the silver or bronze is successful, but they didn't get the gold...

The movie is certainly a success in the eyes of the studio, it is profitable at the box office, TV rights and in merchandising and lets not even get into the marketing money they pulled in and the expected blu ray sales.

But it didn't get the gold (1B).

it was never going to make 1B...WB knew that. Everyone is using a disgruntled employee's words as if it was what WB was actually planning for. Every studio has people in their employ who track how well a movie is going to do. Not one studio tracked Man of Steel for 1bil...not one box office website. That number was thrown out there by Robinov to make WB look bad when MOS didnt hit 1 Bil.

Because they think MOS a great movie and it should make more than it has. :)

That answers nothing. Lots of movies should make more than they make/made. It doesn't mean they will. There was no way for MOS to reach WB's ridiculous $1 billion expectation even if it was the best movie ever made, given the factors working against it were all still there. MOS made a very realistic good amount. $650 million. $100 million less than TASM and a lot more than BB. WB's expectations makes them look as if they can't run a film studio. As I said before, they gave Superman a toothbrush and asked him to clean the whole mansion with it in just a few hours. Then when he failed to achieve that, they were in complete shock over it (not the best analogy but you get the point).

You never specified the age group you were referring to. You said "kids" and I assumed you were excluding teens from that. I assumed you were talking about six-year olds. MOS appealed to the 10 - 35 demographic in the same way the Nolan Batman films and most CBM's these days appeal to that same demographic.

I've seen other sources reporting it as well. They coukd all be from Robinov though and I just didn't bother to check.

Regardless, I hope you're right.

It crossed 289 million today.

I'm hoping that in about a week it crosses $290 million. Still hoping for an IMAX rerelease. Does anyone know how long this kind of movie generally plays in the dollar theaters?

Depends on how good it does...I saw it Wed and the theater was packed

Kids I refer to are teenagers... 10 to early 20s who are still studying n don't have to work. Thus have plenty of time.
Surely CBM must appeal to them. What I said was MOS didn't make them crazy about it like spidey, ironman.

For the most part, the general public liked MOS overall. It was a success with them despite critics and some fans having problems with it.

Agree.
But I want MOS 2! No batman. :P

wont gonna happen so no reason to talk about a MOS2 . It`s Superman/ Batman.

Same here. :csad:

I don't mind a Superman/Batman film, but I want to get at least one more Superman film first.
why does everyone want the same thing I like the team up ideal
WB is stepping up thier game finally
were gonna get another solo flim but WB need to have the JL off the ground in the next flim form what im hearing they are doing 4 mos movies so I love it

"He's making a fool of himself out there!"

"What do we do? What do we do?!"

"Ref! Sub please."

"Alright, get in there Batman! Go make us a billion bucks."

WB if it were a soccer game.

I really think we are gonna get a mos2 this superman/batman is a follow up but in a different way
we will have 3 mos titles before. its said and done superman/batman is just a fast way to start the shared universe

What?...

MOS has sold over 36 million tickets. It's right behind I am Legend and Inception in terms of tickets sold.

On a side note, Superman III would make 155 million if you adjust for inflation.

superman/batman movie will not be mos2
superman will get his solo sequel but it will be after or just before JL
WB has no time to focus on one hero at the moment if they want a Solid JL by 2017 form what some sources say
I really love the ideal of this team up it will quench the thirst for a JL for all fan boys
then ask yourself this question
Why Not?
its something totally worth waiting for
:woot:
and plus we get batman fast instead of waiting on another reboot we got a reboot/sequel:woot::woot::woot:
any real DC fan will be happy about this
we all know the batman superman team up in comics and in cartoons have been the best team ups in DC history even better than most JL stories

Because batman is human, superman is alien. People will root n side for the human. It is historically proven that in all movies, the human would overcome all the impossible obstacles to defeat the powerful alien. And most of all the audience buy that. Love that. And wanna see that!!!

In teamup or Versus or whatever, superman would be the clown and the loser. History has shown that.

That's why hate the direction.
