Yeah. The only reason it took 3 years between Begins and Knight was The Prestige. The only reason there were 4 years between Knight and Rises was Inception. Snyder is hopping right into Man of Steelier.

So, assuming they do a sequel and assuming Cavill will not do more than 3 films total what do you want.

No MOS3 but Cavill in a JL film or an MOS3 w/ a new Supes actor for JL?

Cavill is set for just 3 films from what I've read. He is moving into the big-league now as an actor and though I wish he'd do more than 3 I suspect he will do the Bale thing.

BTW, Henry as I said before was an inspired choice. I didn't feel that at first but he quickly won me over.

I am a bit surprised the female demo for the film was not great - though it was somewhat better than for the average CBM.

My girlfriend thinks Henry is hot - frankly I don't see it - LOL!

Cavill will surely be in Justice League, so that means 6 films in which he plays Superman. And you never know, by the end of MOS3 they may decide to make MOS4. Batman Begins only opened with $48mill. MOS opened with $117mill (or $129mill), so the box office of MOS trilogy will be incredible, and may lure them into MOS4.

If Cavill's only doing 3 (which I doubt), then I just want 3 MOS movies.

That would be my preference too.

I don't even like that a potential MOS sequel will introduce Flash or WW. That is going to take precious screen-time from Supes. I prefer a stand-alone MOS sequel if there is one.

Its great how "Superman was Cavill's dream", because Amy Adams also dreamed of being Lois and obsessed over Kidder. This was perfect casting in terms of the their motivation to play the roles. That may have been the main reason why Amy Adams got the role to begin with.

So we are at the 5 day mark and MOS has made more than the first Iron Man and the first Spiderman. It's currently at 152,777,618 domesticly, so if the WOM keeps up this thing could have legs and make 400 million domesticly.

Not a problem. They can just increase the screen time from 143 minutes to 160 minutes. Plus it will probably only be a 30 seconds nod to those characters anyway if its merely to introduce them for an upcoming JL film.

That's not what I am getting from some of the stories I'm reading about a potential sequel.

The focus of an MOS2 has to be Supes and corporate Lex.

Speaking of Lex - no campy Hackman and no over-the-top Spacey.

A hard-core and intense businessman who poses a real threat to Supes and whose associates are deadly.

Plus, as with Smallville, Lex needs to be "hot" too and just a few years older than Kal. IMO.

Tomorrow MOS will debut in Italy. I'll do my part to increase the box office :)

Do you recall how SR did in Italy?

I think Henry being European will give MOS a boost over SR in Europe even outside of the UK itself.

You shouldn't compare it to those movies. They did not have 3D tickets and the prices in general were cheaper. If you change the prices of tickets to count towards inflation Iron Man and the spider-man movie has made more.

I'd rather have a Superman trilogy than a duology along with a JL movie.

BTW - someone posted that WB wants MOS2 out in 2014. That is crazy.

If WB does a sequel and if it is rushed it will be out in 2015. 2 year gap like TASM.

But I say that is crazy too. Wait 3 years. Do a great film creatively and that means take your time.

it's looking like half our wishes have been answered as MOS appears so far a financial success.

But the other half - a great Superman film - we did not get.

Let the next film if there is one be done slowly and let us next time get a great film creatively as well as financially.

Not that MOS was bad - it was good but should have been better.
Maybe they already have a solid story in mind. It isn't like they start from scratch and do brain storming.
I have no problem if it is out christmas 2014.

I actually believe that they will make as many superman films as possible as long as they are hits and they can keep the cast together. As far as a JL film, There is no reason why there could not be such a film as a separate franchise but yet having the character (as played by their respective actors) staring in the film. Marvel's Avengers proved that as viable.

Spiderman yes, but not Iron Man. Ticket prices have not increased that much since 2008.

Not so sure studios care about inflation as much as you would think.
Higher ticket prices means less people buying tickets on principle alone. If they raised the price to 50 bucks a ticket and the film still drew a crowd that's saying something lol.

Henry will be Superman for as long as he wants too. He wanted to be Superman for the longest time. Now that he is Superman he will play the role for as long as his ages lets him. WB would be stupid to cast someone else as Superman for JL. Henry is the new Christopher Reeve of today.

I'm going to cross my fingers for $1 billion. That would be a major psychological boost to get the DCU off on the right foot.

According to BOM, the first IM adjusts to $350 million.
