SR wasnt a reboot. it was a continuation of the already established donner superman and lex universe.
It used alot of the same lines, had no origin, had lois with a kid that was conceived in SII.
Kitty even said to lex in the FOS, ''you act like you've been here before''. he just smiled at that.

as for as B.O. 530 to 600 mill WW. could be more or less. depends on how hard WB hits the marketing for it.

To the people who voted for $1.5 billion

Also, somewhat baffling people think its going to make $200 million.

last 2 rebooted dead franchises(Star Trek & Batman) both made less than 400 million WW just saying

Yeah, before I was guessing between $600 to $700, but I think $500 is way more reasonable.

really im3 as #1 i like iron man and all but kind of sick of him already he is kind of over exposed like wolverine

I LOVED Iron Man , liked IM2 but was disappointed. Loved the Avengers. I agree that i am sick of Iron Man a little, but i loved the trailer for IM3. BEN KINSLEY !!!
I think IM 3 or Hunger Games will be the biggest grossing film of 2013, leaning towards hunger games though.

Iron Man was well done, the second one was a misfire to me, but the 3rd one looks really good in my opinion.

oh i agree im3 looks good just surprised a heroes 4th outing is taking #1 from a fresh new modern take on supes

maybe i am just bias lol

Totally arbitrary list. Doesn't mean a thing.

Maybe....maybe not.

This is the box office prediction thread, isn't it? There are some numbers to look at on that arbitrary list for fans to speculate....that sample is taken from the front page of Yahoo, not from a comicbook website. The pool is much more general public driven.

You've really added nothing here...There's no disputing that.

There are no numbers whatsoever to their reasoning. Randomly slapped it together. You're telling me the general public is anticipating Pacific Rim more than Fast & the Furious 6? Yahoo! is the same site that said The Dark Knight Rises was snubbed for Golden Globes nominations because of Aurora.

If you read the whole article, you would know that...There's no disputing that.

Honestly, I find the poll to be the encouraging thing in that article considering the number of votes involved. That said, it's still meaningless, since you never know how many of those votes are just multi-votes from bored fans, lol.

Superman returns wasn't modern. It was the same boring trash from the old movies.MOS will be modern.Right now I say it's on track for 600m worldwide.
Singer said child born out of wedlock is very modern. :D so you r wrong!!!

Internet Hype is a funny thing. If anyone remember 'snakes on a plane' hype long ago, if you believed the hype around that movie at that time, you'd think that the movie will break box office records left and right...

If you had continued reading, you'd see that there is a public poll underneath....which is the public sample I was referring to.

I agree, though IM2's trailers looked excellent, too. Then the movie came out and it was fairly average.

The general public is much more keen on Iron Man 3 because of Avengers and Downey.

Exactly how i feel. Iron 3 looks realllly good, and i love Ben Kinsley.

I am with you there.

That's a good point. I didn't think of that.

I am fairly certain that The Man of Steel is a movie with only two outcomes. Either it fails miserably or it will do massively well at the BO over a Bill. Now all we need really is a runaway ad machine to cement in the mind of the audience and fans that the movie is a new and exciting take on The Man of Steel
