    Happy Thanksgiving, Guest!

The Amazing Spider-Man Marc Webb: what do we know about him?

Ryan Reynolds is Deadpool. He is the Robert Downey Jr. of Iron Man. Perfect casting. It had everyone floored.

Yeah and look how that turned out. Please, Reynolds isn't anywhere near the league of Downey so you can stop right there.

Hugh Jackman, Liev Schreiber, and Danny Huston are all excellent actors as well.

So? Just goes to show they need to pick their projects more carefully but all in all, seems to me like they got involved just to pick up a pay check and have their names attached to a comic book movie just for the sake of it as EVERYONE else seems to be doing it:whatever:

While Martin and Sally are great veteran actors, Rhys Ifans...really? And are you going to compare Andrew Garfield to Hugh Jackman?

Um Ifans is a very good actor, have you even seen his work? Besides harry potter? As for Garfield, yes, I would compare him to Jackman, easily. Just because Jackman may have more experience by no means makes him a better actor. I think you need to actually watch the movies these actors have been in before you start questioning their talents.

Both movies had a pretty solid cast and Wolverine was terrible. Just because a movie has a solid cast doesn't mean it is destined for greatness.

Never said otherwise.

Now if Marc Webb had already proved himself and this was the second Spidey movie then I would be floored with some of you but I have gotten my hopes up one too many times to be let down. Just don't set the bar too high as there is more room to go under it than over it.

That means nothing. How many great directors out there have delivered in the past and completely made a hash of things on their recent project(s) many. It can go both ways. However, I'm more inclined to believe that this movie will deliver and upon its release, we're all going to look back on this and wonder why the hell wolverine was even mentioned in the same sentence with what will be a vastly superior spider-man film.

In response to the OP, Nolan isn't a die hard batfanatic and nowhere near as passionate about batman the way Raimi was broadcasting his claims on being a die hard spidey fan and well, the respective results are there for everyone to see.
Show me proof that Raimi is a DIE HARD FANATIC of Spider-man and Nolan is simply a passive fan of Batman.

Yeah and look how that turned out. Please, Reynolds isn't anywhere near the league of Downey so you can stop right there.
Exactly. Look how that turned out. That is my point exactly. Sally Fields could be the worst Aunt May ever. Who knows?

I never said Reynolds was as great of an actor as Downey. I said he was cast perfectly and he was. Ryan Reynolds is Deadpool just as Downey is Stark. Even the comics refer to Ryan Reynolds. If you want to compare acting chops and credentials then we could have found a much better Gwen Stacy, a much better Spider-Man, a much better Captain Stacy, a much better Dr. Connors, etc. Why not fill those roles with Oscar winners? You can have the best actor in the world play a part, it doesn't mean he is the best choice for that role and that someone else could have done it better.

So? Just goes to show they need to pick their projects more carefully but all in all, seems to me like they got involved just to pick up a pay check and have their names attached to a comic book movie just for the sake of it as EVERYONE else seems to be doing it:whatever:
You already know that this movie is going to be amazing and that Garfield, Stone, Fields, Ifans, etc. all picked these roles because they knew the quality of the movie beforehand? Are you a psychic!? You could make a killing.

How dare you say that Ryan Reynolds was in it for the paycheck. How dare you say that Hugh Jackman was in it for the paycheck. You know them so well and you can see the future. A double threat I dare say.

Have their name attached to a comic book movie just for the sake of it because everyone else is doing it. Better call up Sheen and Fields and call them hypocrits.

Um Ifans is a very good actor, have you even seen his work? Besides harry potter? As for Garfield, yes, I would compare him to Jackman, easily. Never said Ifans wasn't a good actor but a great actor? No. And yes I have seen him in Harry Potter, Nanny McPhee, Pirate Radio, Elizabeth, Hannibal Rising, Little Nicky, and of course The Replacements. Quite the resume.

Oh but you were just saying up there that Ryan Reynolds isn't even close to the same league as Downey but now Garfield is in the same league as Hugh Jackman. How many movies of Andrew Garfield's are you going off of to judge his overall acting abilities?

Never said otherwise.
You just told Hugh Jackman and crew to better choose movies so obviously you thought that cast was weaker than this cast. The problem with Wolverine wasn't the cast, it was the terrible script and the terrible director. Yet for some reason you think this movie is going to be amazing because it has Sally Fields, Rhys Ifans, Andrew Garfield, and Martin Sheen.

It can go both ways. That is exactly right. Who knows if this movie will be a gem or a turd. But then you are inclined to think it will be a good movie becaussssssseeeeeee???? Those psychic abilities? You better start playing the lottery.

Show me proof that Raimi is a DIE HARD FANATIC of Spider-man and Nolan is simply a passive fan of Batman.

Go watch the special features on dvds. Nolan clearly stated that's why he got David Goyer to write and flesh out the script (BB) because he himself isn't a diehard bat fanboy.

I'll read this later.

You can't say that! I just made popcorn!

Exactly, and Raimi was a big fan of Spidey because he always mentioned that one day he got a comic of Spider-Man from his older brother when he was younger and he became a die hard fan since then, tralalala... oh, and he also sayd he had a huge painting of Spidey above his bed. :whatever:

Who doesn't have a huge painting of Spidey above your bed?

Gavin was the best thing ever and the cast like Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool was the best thing ever
LOLOL they arent nothing like Garfield, Sheen, Ifans, Fields...in any way...
whoever thought that was brilliant casting was ridiculous

Especially the casting of Ryan "The Goofball" Reynolds.

I know. Deadpool is a serious, melodramatic character whom the comic writers and artists have never mentioned as being perfect for the character. Stupid Ryan Reynolds.

I have no idea...but my one big question about him is..." is he really a spidey fan??" like big hardcore fan or just a "guy"

any thought?

I don't know Webb, never heard of him. But I can'¡t vcare any less if he's a fan or not. So far that has meant nothing.

I still think he was chosen because of his last name. :oldrazz:

LOL, yes. :joker:

I thought of so many jokes about it and this beats them all.

LOL! He never makes wisecracks, pop culture references or breaks the fourth wall! Pfft.

Leo DiCaprio for Deadpool....starting it here.

But he's horrible at comedy, as well. And he's a really bad joke as Green Lantern. I thought that trailer was fan made, lol.

Either he will deliver or he won't. People getting excited that Marc Webb, director of one movie, is helming a billion dollar franchise with a huge budget is odd to me. Don't put all your eggs in one basket.

Excalty.Thats why I asked you guys : Who the hell is he?

What if, he had made a decide to put Vultress in the movie, or something like that.
So, Sam is a fan of spider man? Mhm then why did he put emo parker in SM3 then? I heard that was his idea to do that as well cuz that was pretty sucks idea.

Pls, Excuse me for my bad grammar.

Sam is a fan of Spider-Man but he is a fan of old school Spidey so some of the decisions he decided to use on film didn't translate too well to today's audiences.

The title of this thread is hilarious. It's like y'all are planning a HUAC convention. :hehe

MR. WEBB HAVE YOU, OR ANYONE YOU'VE KNOWN, EVER BEEN A MEMBER OF THE COMMUNIST PARTY?

Can you link me to some of the fan trailers you watch? I must see these!

I'm pretty sure emo Parker was, pretty much, Peter under the influence of the symbiote. And many of us know that Raimi never had interest in bringing in the symbiote storyline.
