The Last Jedi Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker (VIII)

Is he gonna use the force to pull off and then split the grapes with a floating knife as an homage to his daddy?

Since Han Solo died in the last movie, Disney should continue the trend and kill off Luke Skywalker next :)

Hell NOOO! I want Luke to live and be the first Jedi master that actually lives past the end of Episode IX.

Hot Toys TFA Luke Skywalker figure will finally be revealed next week, toward the end of SDCC'16:

I'm really curious to see what Luke's demeanor will be like at this point.

Little side note to that, when MSW posted the article regarding this they said look out for some VIII news later this week.

I like the hobo wizard Luke look, honestly. I can't wait to see what he does in Episode VIII. I hope we see him do something with the force that has never been seem before that blows our minds...

I mean...is that really news? Did anyone suspect it wouldn't be? I mean know Luke Skywalker will have a larger role, and the movie ends with their meeting for the first time and the next movie begins right after that moment.

It's like everyone's just trolling for Star Wars clicks at this point.

Like I clicked on that link, and the only thing that's sort of interesting is that Rian Johnson is saying he wants the movie to be a fun experience rather than a darker middle chapter like Empire Strikes Back. None of the other information is really earth-shattering news. Or it's news that's already been put out there in different forms.

Like we already knew episode VIII begins right where Episode VII ends months ago. Everything is just getting regurgitated at this point because there's barely anything to go on and really nothing to actually report unless you're Making Star Wars.

I also thought it was a given Rey and Luke would have an important bond.

This one being more "fun" is interesting. Rian is good at adding bits of subtle humor here and there.
