The Last Jedi Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker (VIII)

Imagine if Rey is manipulated by Snoke and Kylo?

Then Rey Kylo Ren and the Knights of Ren hunt down Luke.. he then kills the KoR and easily disarms Rey and Kylo Ren..I'd die.

Is Battlefront cannon? Luke in that is post Jedi and has his green saver.
Yes, Battlefront 2 story will be cannon

Pretty much anything post Disney that is created be it in movies, games, and comics will all be cannon

It would be an extremely ballsy move if Rey does go to the dark side. We've never had a major female antagonist in a SW film.

I love how so many just want the first major Star Wars female Jedi to go evil. :funny:

Also, it would be a pretty bad idea imo. She's the hero for a reason.

I do really want to see a female dark side Force user. Not necessarily Rey though.

Wanting something has nothing to do with it. It's speculation. We know that this movie is going to try for a big twist (probably). Rey going to the dark side seems slightly less plausible than some theories and slightly more plausible than others.

Mark Hamill: "Actually, I don’t think Luke’s fundamental personality has changed [over the years], except that he is older and his life experiences have shaped his outlook the same way they do for all of us." "The biggest challenge for me was actually in the time between Return of the Jedi and Star Wars: The Force Awakens. I had to know what had happened to Luke during those years. I had to glean decades of backstory from the script. And some of it I had to make up for myself. I had to know what he went through during that time. It’s not important to the storyline for this film, but I did discuss some of my thoughts with Rian Johnson (the film’s writer and director) to make sure I wasn’t coming up with anything in my personal backstory that would affect Luke’s portrayal in this film." "In Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Luke has lost confidence in his ability to make good choices. It haunts him to the core. But he hasn’t gone to the dark side. This isn’t an evil version of him. But it’s still an incarnation of the character I never expected. It has pulled me out of my comfort zone. It’s a real challenge." "I’m sure this line is a great shock to the audience [to hear Luke say that it's time for the Jedi to end], so you can imagine how I felt! This is a huge change for a character who once represented optimism and hope. It’s a radical decision to drop out of everything he’s ever believed in. The entire movie is filled with these kinds of jaw-dropping surprises, but you’ll just have to see the film itself to discover what they are."

The odds of Rey turning to the dark side are the same as Superman staying dead.

Yes, the campaign even references things from the Aftermath novels and the comics set after Return of the Jedi.

Was just going to say this. The Battlefront 2 campaign is actually really relevant to Star Wars lore. A lot is revealed at the end of it. It sets up The Force Awakens and it also sort of sets up Luke's journey post-Return of the Jedi and how he ends up on Ahch-To, albeit vaguely. There's obviously tons in between we don't know.

For fans of everything canon, I'm telling You, get Battlefront 2 and play the campaign. It's important, that's for sure. To anyone who has played It already, apparently the campaign isn't quite finished either. There's another mission coming out with the DLC on December 13, a continuation of where you leave off.

I guess that confirms rumors that Luke's lightsaber kyber crystal has started "bleeding"?

Yep. That's got to be
Luke's crystal. I bet when Luke finally does ignite his green saber it will be a very badass moment signifying that Luke Skywalker is finally truly back.
.

Luke better get a "Vader in Rogue One" moment in TLJ. I can guarantee that he won't be wielding a lightsaber for the majority of the movie. But I'm hoping there's a dire situation near the end of the film that basically forces his hand. He ignites the blade and just starts wrecking fools left and right. And then he helps the good guys escape to live to fight another day. Just want to hear that signature sound of his green saber activating!

Oh yeah count me in for a moment like this!

The best Star Wars forum is TheCantina, there is a google doc updated thread that uses all the information that is out there and piles together confirmed parts of the movie.

Hopefully Luke gets to use his saber. We'll see though
