Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 Appreciation Thread

Hhhmm....This is definitely undeniably one of the best fighting games ever. Personally, i like MvC1 more than 2 because 2 is just more cheesier. Still its a great game that changed the arcade scene. My team was:

Jin
Cap
Venom

My favorite brawlers are definitely Wolverine and Captain Commando.
Cap Commando has one of the best combos in the whole game.

Jill Valentine is such a good supporting character, and is fast as hell.
She's not weak either, and also summons the demon out of the ground.
I can't remember doing too much with Jill. I'll give her a look next time

I loved using Guile. I didnt like him too much in Street Fighter but he was alot more fun and easier to use here

I will forever despise Superman Returns for making everyone and their mother think it's funny to say WRONG like the loser Spacey Lex Luthor.

It was lame and unfunny in the movie, and it's lame and unfunny in real life. :cmad:
WRONG!!!

Like you didn't know this was coming.

Spider-Man
Venom
HULK
Ironman
Cap
Wolverine

I could never get the whole charging thing down.

It was a bit faster in MvC2. You can play Guile either defensively and charge his moves while waiting to attack or you can play him offensively and charge while attacking your opponent head on. MvC2 made it easier to do the latter. He had some of the best combos in the game

Does anyone else know about the Cable, Juggernaut, Servbot combo?

I liked how this game and SNK vs. Capcom 2 had music that absolutely had no bearing on what was going on during the game. Smooth jazz...lol.
Lol, it's nice to know that I wasn't the only one who noticed that; a lot of times I kept wondering why they were playing that music.

My fav. characters to use were Wolverine (either one), Rogue, and Juggernaut.

I liked Rogue but hated that they changed her absorption power. Before she actually did steal a power from her enemy but in this game she only got a boost. I understood it though bc with 50+ characters they'd have to create alot of animations for her, but still it would have been nice had they kept it as it originally was

Really wish psylocke was alot better.
My team is usually spiderman rogue and colossus

it would be better to have alt costumes.

this game is preety hard to find around here. i got lucky and found it at a gamestop.

I didn't mind Psylocke...I thought she was pretty powerful if used to her full potential.

The game was OK, but like Jin, I perfered the first one. See, with the second game, the chnage from the 6 to the 4-button format weakened a lot of characters, and the 3 on 3 was a bit too much. Not to mention the 2D characters on 3D backdrops brought the overall quality down. And then there was the music as was mentioned before. With that said my team was:

Strider
Spider-Man
Psylocke

That was my team in the first one as well.

This game never gets old.
I played this like crazy with my friends yesterday and the day before.

My combined interchangeable team are:

- Wolverine (Bone Claw)
- Wolverine.
- Captain Commando.
- Iron Man.
- Strider Hiryu.
- Jill Valentine.
- Gambit.

This was the first game I had on my Dreamcast, and when the DC went caput, I bought a PS2, and guess what, I bought it again.

I've been to a couple of Gamestops and I've see used copies going for $60:wow:

thank goodness I never sold mine back.

Warhammer is a beast with Wolverine! He just couldnt stop my Jin/Ken/Ironman team! :woot:

^Yep. :o

I have to agree.
His Jin/Ken/Iron Man team beats my Captain Commando/Wolverine/Iron Man team 7 out of 10 times.

:csad:

the game was so much better on the Dreamcast

Cable
Cyclops
Ironman

I just love busting out their combined combo.

Actually, a better combo would be to exchange Iron Man for Mega Man. Now THAT is a big Team Hyper Combo. Just one of those will take out Abyss, no matter what form he's in. What's really funny is, after Iron Man/Mega Man and Cyclops have stopped blasting, trigger-happy Cable keeps it up for another five seconds.
