Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 Appreciation Thread

My favorite team was Spider-Man, Strider, and Jin. All three were fast and could break out some great air comboes. I was a complete nightmare with Spider-Man. I miss the good old days, when I would beat scores of people in the arcade without switching Spidey out ONCE.

Aside from that, my teams were:
Cable, Cyclops, Mega Man
Wolverine (either one), Gambit, Magneto
Captain Commando, Iron Man, Psylocke

Strangely enough, I really didn't like using the Street Fighter characters in this game. They just seemed somewhat...underpowered, I suppose. Also, I'm not used to playing a fighting game where I can't dominate the competition with Akuma alone.

Say, does anyone know if Capcom is planning to release some of their versus games for the PSP?

Capcom had originally planned for the Xbox version of the game to have Xbox Live (online play) capability. However, Marvel complained that Capcom only held the rights to the game as it was and could not add any new features without purchasing more licensing. Capcom refused to purchase more licensing from Marvel and Xbox Live was pulled from the game just before it shipped. Retailers had already begun advertising the game with the Xbox Live logo.

Because Capcom is no longer licensed to produce this title (or any joint-Marvel productions), the game is no longer in print. This licensing abnormality, coupled with the resounding and unexpected commercial success of the title, has created an unusually exuberant demand for the game. This phenomenon has in turn culminated in an unprecedentedly resilient and considerable market value, as best evidenced by pricings at Ebay and Amazon. Depending on the home platform, a used copy can go anywhere from $50.00 to over $160.00.

It's not gonna happen, Nathan.
Well, not Marvel vs. Capcom 1 & 2/Marvel Super Heroes vs. Capcom/X-Men vs. Street Fighter.

:csad:

Marvel vs Capcom 2 on PSP would rule!!!!

Yeah, that whole licensing things sucks. What would be nice, what with Capcom releasing all of these Collection discs, would be a Marvel Collection. I would love a collection with X-Men: Children of the Atom, Marvel Super Heroes, X-Men VS. Street Fighter, Marvel Super Heroes VS. Street Fighter, and Marvel VS. Capcom 1 and 2.

It ain't gonna happen, but I can dream.

all Capcom does do with their fighters is release collections so dont rule it out. Im surprised they havent done a Marvel VS collectio with MvC, MvC2 and X-men Vs SF and a SNK VS collection with Capcom vs SNK, Capcom vs SNK Pro , Capcom vs SNK2 and SNK vs Capcom. Id kill for those 2

Capcom won't do it because Marvel will demand more production rights for that release.

I just found a site with Marvel Super Heroes Vs. Street Fighter converted for the PSP.

If I just knew how to put it on my PSP.

in all fairness, i think this game is just good for the variation of characters...

I much prefer x-men vs streetfighter, it was controlled and also 2 on two which i feel is better

separately, x-men children of the atom and alpha two are better than marvel vs capcom 2.

love this game. is there any way of unlocking the characters faster? so many points i have to collect :csad:

nope. Best bet is to get a Maxdrive or Sharkport if you dont have one and download a save for the game. Thats what I did bc I was not going to sit through and do all over what I had already done for the DC

this game is best my team is spider-man dr.doom venom

the only problem th is no ending

BUMPTACULAR!

My revised list of characters that I use:

- Spider-Man
- Doc Doom
- Blackheart
- Akuma
- Mega Man
- Hulk
- Wolverine (Adamantium)
- Rogue
- Iron Man (very rarely, because using Proton Cannon all day is cheating)

I wish Capcom would release a Vs. Compilation...like the Alpha game for PS2. Most of the Vs. Titles never had perfect ports. I'd love a game with X-Men Vs. Street Fighter, Marvel Superheroes Vs. Street FIghter, Marvel Vs. Capcom and Marel Vs. Capcom 2 all on one disc.

I also wouldn't mind seeing X-Men Children of the Atom and Marvel Superheroes on a disc.

but, since capcom doesn't have rights to marvel characters, i bet it'd be hard to get aproved.
