The overall package is just plain not compelling enough for me, and knowing that a third edition is probably right around the corner I simply cannot think of any reason to justify buying UMVC3.

I skipped Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition because none of the new characters interested me and I did not think a balance patch was worth $15, and I am quite content with SSFIV ATM. Maybe if Capcom had included Elena instead of a glorified alt-costume for Ryu I would have considered it, but there simply was not enough there for the amount Capcom was asking. And lo-and-behold, the online community for AE is a lot weaker than the one for SSFIV vanilla, so it looks like there are a lot of people who feel the way I do, at least as far as not offering enough bang-for-the-buck is concerned, and I won't run out of opponents in SSFIV vanilla any time soon.

Not every edition of a game Capcom puts out is worth buying, and unfortunately that is symptomatic of their business model: release an unfinished game, and then gradually release slightly more finished versions until your run out of stuff that people care to spend money on. I'm sure there are going to be a lot of outraged UMVC3 owners who will refuse to buy the Arcade Edition of UMVC3 because they don't care about having Mega Man X and new balance patches, but I'll have save my money so it's not going to hurt me in the wallet. And even if no arcade edition is ever made, I already had my fun with MVC3 vanilla and can live quite comfortably without dropping 40 bones on a slightly more finished version.
 
well i don't play online.. so im ok with that factor (most of the time my internet sucks anyway), but if we hear rumblings about an arcade edition before this one comes out for purchase (like it did with street fighter) ill just wait to pick the arcade edition up. But as for right now, im simply just going to trade in MVC3 and use that towards the new game
 
Any chance they surprise us this weekend and show Nova? I wonder what his moveset will be.
 
I'm really disappointed by the new roster.

no Spider-man villain. no Spider-Woman or Arana/Spider-Girl. Not even Gambit or Psylocke.

I'm passing on this Ultimate Edition.
 
I'm starting to think Capcom just feels Mega Man isn't edgy enough for today's sophisticated gamer. :o

Zero however.....nothing but attitude.
 
I would have loved Mega Man X in this game..........why no love for MM from Capcom??
 
didn't know some of the existing characters are getting new moves.....

still not interested, though..........lol.

I'll wait for the Super Arcade Edition released next year.......lol

Honestly. Only one more Marvel female is all that's need. Ms. Marvel, Songbird. Someone from the Avengers or another team that's not X-Men. Cause 3 of the 4 Marvel women in the game are X-Women. She Hulk's the lone one from the outer Marvel universe.
 
Eh, female characters would've been a waste of a character slot. :o
 
I'm pretty surprised that we get 12 new characters and not 1 female character......
 
If we do see more characters after these new 12, and if any are X-Men, I'd love to see them do Nightcrawler.

Its even worse at the lack of black characters. I mean i know the japanese are racist but its ridiculous how under represented they are in this game. Blade, Luke Cage, Bishop, T'Challa, Cloak, War Machine, Prowler, all could of made good fighters in this game. But i guess that would be asking too much to bring the total black fighters up to more than 1.
 
On that list, Black Panther and possibly Prowler are the only two characters I'd care about. Maybe even Cloak, when he comes packed with Dagger.
 
Yeah. Black Panther is the only worth while addition in that list. Maybe Cloak but his powers would translated odd if he were by himself without Dagger. The rest are lol..no different than someone already in the game.

Ghost Rider's got the chain of Luke's, Haggar has the rest. Bishop would practically be like Rocket what with big guns and what not. War Machine is Iron Man. Prowler is just lol really Prowler?

And Blade just isn't relevant enough.
 
I could see Prowler. T'challa is the best choice though.

Considering the top three characters still left out that I want in this game aren't female, I can't say I share everyone's sentiments at the lack of boobage going on.

It doesn't really matter, the fact remains there is only 1 black character on the entire roster and those I named are all fairly popular characters. Maybe no so much prowler but still, the lack of black characters with so many good ones out there only leads to one conclusion
 
And that conclusion is that most black characters aren't popular enough?
