They also said Strider had licensing issues, but months later he's in. I think they saved some characters for this version because it'll boost sales. Mega Man & Venom will probably in an AE styled DLC pack. Not that I care, I feel Ultimate is a better deal than having DLC. I'm shocked Capcom didn't offer this all as seprate DLC.

I'm still getting this game, simply for Hawkeye to be quite frank, but goddamn was that a bold faced lie if I ever seen one.

I'm not saying that I want them in, just that they too, were characters that were highly requested. I mean seriously, of all these 12 new characters, they can't tell us they they each had more requests than Mega Man. Almost every Capcom fan voted for some version of Mega Man.

Dormammu is relevant? Jean? (love her but she hasnt done a damn thing in years) Shuma, Sentinel, Rocket Raccoon, etc... The game has several characters who arent doing much in the current Marvel Unierse. Heck the only reason Shuma and Sentinel are in is bc they have a huge following from the previous game, not bc they have any significant value in the books today

I always though Venom's attacks in the previous games were pretty weird. So I don't want him back.

I'm seriously thinking they're keeping Doc Ock for DLC since they probably know that many people would buy him.

If that poll were done somewhere else like Comic Vine, Comic Book Resource, or perhaps even here, I guarantee the results would have been a lot different and Venom, Carnage, and Gambit probably wouldn't even be in the top 20.

when it comes to the Marvel side it seems like they're try to promote the majority of their characters and put in more characters that are actually revelant. I mean Ghost Rider has a sequel. Hawkeye's gonna be in Avengers. A Doctor Strange movie has been talked about, but hasn't been officially greenlit. I'm assumming Rocket Raccoon was Capcom wanting another unusual Marvel character.

Let's take a look at some of the Marvel vets

Cyclops - Is still pretty revelant, but is currently despised by several old school X-Men fans and he only can do one thing in the game and shoot beams which is kinda stale due to how writers have being writing him.

Gambit - Not that revelant. I like him, but let's be honest here, the only reason he became so popular was because of the 90s X-men cartoon. People can't even write for him except Liu. X-23 is the only place to read a good Gambit.

Venom - Fans want Eddie Brock, but people who don't read comics don't even know he hasn't been Venom for years. And Marvel probably wants to push the Flash Thompson version. If that version got in people would have complained. So Marvel ignored him all together.

Rogue - The version most people are familar with is the 90s version and she no longer has Ms Marvel's flight and super strength. She's more like the movie version.

Usually it's the people who don't read comics being the ones who only want characters they know and won't give lesser known characters a chance. By their mindset Strider, CapCom, Jin, Blackheart, and Thanos never would have been in these games.

Rocket Raccoon is big in Marvel's cosmic line. He's as relevant as Nova.

Most people want Venom because 1) He's the most recognised Spider-Man villain and 2) gamers know him from the previous MvC games and they liked him there and 3) he looks cool.

There just that fact that you make the game for fans. Because guess what, fans are the ones that buy these games. Sure, you shouldn't base every decision on the fanbase's whimsical wishes, but when almost every Capcom fan says "We want Mega Man." then that's something worth listening to. Especially when said character is one of the company's biggest effin' mascots.
