Capcom Marvel vs. Capcom 3

I see. Hmm, I haven't played TVC as of yet, so can't really comment, but it does seem like a strange move they would implement that control scheme since I was under the impression that was done purely for compensation of the Wii controller.

It came from Game Informer so it sounds like this is the path Capcom has decide to walk down. They are selling out the franchise because they were afraid that Casuals would find out the game uses 6 buttons and refuse to play it.

Oh well, at least that new Mortal Kombat game sounds kind of cool. :o
Has there been any new news on 9 yet?

Eh. Marvel vs Capcom was always more of a casual fighter. Not sure why dudes are getting so steamed about Capcom embracing that.

Y'know, I'd love to see Jean Grey/Phoenix in this game, perhaps as an unlockable/secret/downloadable/boss whatever. Give her some good keep away moves and a few ranged grabs and have a blast.

Id kill to have her in. The person that leaked the XML2, MuA, MuA2 list apparently said she's one of the 4 X-men in the game. I really hope this turns out to be true

WIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIN! X-23 is my favourite X character :D
Dont be too excited yet. Nothing is official till Capcom reveals and I got this info from a secondary source so I cant confirm it to be true. I'll be excited with you if its true but we probably wont know the full roster for a few months. They'll probably reveal 2-4 characters a month until release and I think the X-men will probably be among the last ones. They'll go for the bigger names first

Yeah, I think Cyclops was the 4th one.
Yea he was

I believe Magneto and Dr.Doom were also on that leaked list.

If its all the same to ya'll, can someone post/direct me to said list? (spoilers)

Not if they get replaced by better and especially new characters. I don't want to see too many character return from past games. I want a roster that consists of mostly new characters.

Nah, what I listed wasnt from that leaked list (which didnt include X-23 or Jean). This is from a poster on another board who told me it came from the person who correctly listed the MuA 2 characters beforehand. Thats why I say take it with a grain of salt bc I dont have a link to verify. Also for all we know, all the names thrown out could be ones that Capcom is actually considering but due to timing, or technical issues may decide to cut out. Thats what happened with Archangel for XML1. He ended up being a last minute cut.

Was that the list that had X-23 on it?

That list was proven false however(they never gave a source to beging with).Heck, none of the gaming sites mentioned it(Unlike when Team Spooky gave us the low down on MvC3).

Also, Tron Bonne is in as a background in a stage.

I for one am mega pissed off that this game is going to have TvC's controls and not MvC2's. This game is basically going to be TvC2 but with Marvel characters, and that's almost enough to turn me off to the whole freaking thing. No seperation of punches and kicks is going to ruin some characters, and it's a slap in the face to anyone who enjoys six button fighters. This was done entirely as a lame attempt to appeal to casuals and gramers who can't be bothered to try and figure out where the shoulder buttons on their controllers are, and that boils my butt. The casuals and gramers are going to buy this game anyway, so why the heck is Capcom dumbing it down? Is the new developer really so incompetent that they can't bother to separate the punches and kicks into two rows of buttons?

Yeah, Capcom. Me and countless other fans out there waited 10 years and got 6 button arcade sticks because we wanted the sequel to a fighting game designed around the Wii controller. Thanks a lot. :cmad:

So? MvC2 didn't play like MvC1, there are always to be some changes in gameplay.

For that matter, you should wait to see actual gameplay before you jump to conclusions.

I like Ketch more too. But it doesn't really matter, they'd probably pick Blaze since he was in the movie. Non-comic fans would be confused if they didn't use him.

Plus, he was the star of the recent series and he's currently being used more than Ketch( though Ketch did team up with his Bro to fight Zadikiel, not to mention the other spirits of Vengence).

Besides, Johnny's orgin is more well known.Which is fine by me, since Blaze is the one i started with.

Thats alright... I got hope and DLC lol oh wouldn't that be awesome. Whatever is going on in the comic world they can release matching DLC.

I know it's wise to wait to see the control scheme first, and MVC is more casual friendly (then again the pro's are much tougher), but I'm with Tim on this. It annoys me enough when a game doesn't allow you to change control scemes, but taking a historically easy to get into but a ***** to master multibutton fighting game and eliminate the ***** to master and multibutton parts...

Now I've yet to play TVC, but from what I've seen and heard, it doesn't sound like it's for me (in the same way that Smash Bros isn't for me). Gameplay is a MUCH larger reason for me to play a game over what characters are in it (especially in a fighter), or what series it belongs to. If Zelda suddenly became an FPS I wouldn't purchase it just because Link's in it and it's called LOZ. If MVC stops being MVC to dumb down the formula and control sceme in order to make it more accessible I probably won't buy it.

Now don't get me wrong, I'm giving Capcom the benefit of the doubt and assuming it's still MVC 3 and not TVC 2 with Marvel characters and the MVC name slapped on. In fact I'm still very eagerly awaiting this title. I just happen to agree with Tim tho that it takes more than being called MVC for me to buy this game, it also has to play like and have the spirit of a MVC title. Otherwise it's not really MVC outside of the letters on the box. I'm not so loyal to namebrand as to hype myself up, and pay $60 for a title I won't enjoy.

Who know's, maybe Capcom is looking at it from a standpoint that they are pleasing the longtime fans by making another sequel, and looking to drawing in new fans by simplifying the control scheme. I myself like the 6 button layout, but I'm pretty sure Capcom will have the option to change the control scheme for the more experienced players.

I'm going to miss the cartoony characters and backgrounds. I dont like how they made it more realistic looking

But again, MvC2 was different from MvC 1, MvC 1 was different from Marvel vs Street Fighter and that was different from X-men vs Street Fighter.

There will always be some gameplay difference in each new game.

Also, TvC was actually a very good.

Besides, i doubt it would be exactly like that, People should stop overeacting over every pice of news.

I don't think it's overreacting. On my part I was just saying "IF" it turns out like that I'll be less inclined to buy it. It's all personal taste, not everyone wants to go with the flow if a series completely changes it's mechanics. I even said that I'm giving Capcom the benefit of the doubt and think it'll still be MVC and not just TVC reskinned.

However you have to realize that while you like TVC, not everyone feels the same. Gameplay is pretty much everything in a fighting game to me. Even if I like the characters, if the gameplay isn't satisfying to me, it's just not worth a purchase to me. I mean I loved Uncharted 1, and then 2 changed the forumla a bit but it was improvements, and 2 became my favorite game this gen so far. Yet if Uncharted 3 became a pure Tomb Raider clone, I wouldn't buy it purely because Drake's in it. Same here, if MVC stops being MVC, then I'm not going to buy it purely because it has Marvel and Capcom characters in it. The same way I stopped playing Mortal Kombat after 3 because it just stopped being MK to me.

But, with that said, like said above, I doubt it'll lose that MVC feeling. I'm sure it'll be a great game. I just, like I said, agree with Tim that I'm not into a complete overhaul to dumb down the system or make it TVC 2.

Yay.

Too bad that's probably all we'll see of either her or the Servbots in this game. Hopefully, Roll can make the cut. Otherwise, eh, that's about all I care about from the Mega Man side of things really
