Silver Surfer in MvC3?

Thanks to Doom for pointing out this info. A post on the shoryuken.com forums has some new info and pics from a Japanese magazine, where Nitsuma-san discusses the Fantastic 4 characters that will be in MvC3, Dr Doom, Super Skrull, and Silver Surfer, who he says will be showed off more soon.

Here is what was in the post:

basically what the article is is a look at the history of the fantastic four + an interview with ryota niitsuma where he discusses the influence of fantastic four within marvel vs capcom 3.
niitsuma runs through the playable fantastic four cast of doom, skrull, and he talks about silver surfer, who will be shown off later this month. there are no screens of him, just a little portrait thing along with the other two.
nothing new really about doom, but niitsuma said they’ve added a lot more attacks to skrull since the last public build including several invisible woman techniques.


silver surfer is very quick and has a unique playstyle. he is never standing on the ground. he is always hovering on his board. niitsuma said that silver surfer is more of a character to be played by advanced players. he recommends dr doom to fantastic four fans who are new to the vs series.
also, niitsuma said the fantastic four play a major role within the basic plotline of arcade mode, and that the final boss should be familiar to fans of fantastic four.

Damn! I was going to post that. But it's cool Surfer's in & that the FF will be playing a nice sized role in the game. I'd think they'd make a cameo at the end, with Reed creating a device to seperate the universes or send every back home or something.

The Surfer makes a lot of sense for this franchise. But I'm more interested in the last comment. Is Dormammu just a mid-boss, and Galactus the real final boss? 'Cause Niitsuma's comment sure makes it sound like the latter.

The more I think about Silver Surfer, the more he makes sense:

- Fantastic Four is huge for Marvel
- Two playable villains and no heroes?

Super Skrull is not quite a villian anymore sir, or have you not read Annihilation?

Also, Surfer being in the game is cool, although I would rather have Nova.

Read Annihilation, one of the best cosmic stories ever written by Marvel.

It also makes Super Skrull one of the most awesome anti-heroes ever!

What kind of DLC would you want?

I'd want one with more characters, Hyper combos, and stages. If Daredevil doesn't make the cut I'd really want to see a DLC that features him. He'd be really good in an MvC game.

I guess this cuts out any chances for Luke Cage, since I'd imagine She-Hulk & Cage would play similarly since they're both strong, but not Hulk, Thor or Thing strong.

So it looks like Cage & Nova (because of Surfer), maybe Iron Fist will get in. :/

Yea I want DLC for characters like Ghost Rider and Daredevil and the other non playables

Id also like to see alternate costumes... like for Wolverine the X Force costume,Iron Man Mark 1,Ryu(Dark/Shin Ryu)Deadpool(The Deadpool Kid/Marvel Girl Costume/Ryu's Costumel) Thor(Classic or Beta ray bill skin)

And also Stage DLC.

Blech, I curse the day that they decided to nickle and dime gamers.

I'm personally hoping that they put everyone they wanted in the game, and not bother with dlc...especially not with 'costumes' or some such like they have done with Street Fighter IV.

They are going to put Spider-Man in. The only way he wouldn't be is if there was some licensing issue that prevented it, and if that was the case, we would've known my now. Seriously...people really need to quit worrying about that

Honestly I'm not that big on She Hulk prolly cuz I haven't really read enough of her. But I can't really see her brining anying fresh to her moveset. Of the Hulk characters I would have liked to have seen Skarr at least he could have had a diverse moveset with his sword and Old Power.
