Capcom Marvel vs. Capcom 3

Not me but i was just listing the Villians that came to my head first when i thought Spidey, replace him with Scorpion. Happy now? :)

Did you honestly list Kingpin? Who would want Kingpin in MvC3?
he could be the Zangief/T. Hawk for the Marvel roster. in the comics if you got into a fist fight with Kingpin he was a beast. i wouldnt be opposed to him.

i think it would be cool to bring in some characters Marvel has been pushing into the foreground or trying to make popular with book and movies

Hawkeye/Ronin
Daredevil
Ghost Rider
Blade
Beast
Scarlet Witch
Bucky (either as Winter Soldier or a Cap alternate costume)

I watched the game play footage yesterday wow does this game look impressive. Still chaotic but thats what I loved the most about the previous games. Animation is brilliant and they handled the specials very well.

I WILL be buying this on release day!!

Yeah thats kinda what im getting at Drak, why would you put Venom in again when he has Sandman, Electro, Shocker, Doctor Octopus, Rhino, Kraven, Mysterio, Green Goblin, Hobgoblin, Kingpin, Chameleon, Morbius and The Molten Man. Not to mention like a ton i did'nt name off hand, there are such better options than just Venom.

Of the ones you listed, I'll comment later on my thoughts. Though my fave right now is Gobby and Shocker.

I would see him play very similar to Juggs. Also, I'd be curious as to if he'd be the white one from comics, or the one from the movies.

Why would they use a take on the character from a middling film that is over 7 years old and has never resurfaced in any shape or form?

Capcom said they're using only 616 versions.
Halle-frickin'-lujah. That should be a standing rule for any video game. I don't want to waste my time playing as some second-rate alternate version of the Marvel characters.

I agree, they should stick with what is more identifiable. Even for a person who doesn't keep up with comics can recognize a particular hero just from their appearance. The 616 appearances are what mostly everyone grew up on, so they stick with you. Some of the Ultimate incarnations take some extremes to the point where it could be hard for someone to believe a character is who he/she is portrayed to be. (Nick Fury for example)

Well thanks to the Marvel cinematic Universe I think Ultimate Fury is now burned in the public conscious.

I was actually really surprised the other day to find out Sam was 60.He doesn't look it.

1) What mass-media market outside of comics has Kingpin been in since then?
2) Token black guy.

1. I think you just explained why Kingpin won't be in the game period.
2. They're more likely to make Mega-Man the token black guy.

1) Obviously, I don't think he'd even be in the game, but I was just following the flow of the conversation, you know? What's the point of fandom if not, aside from fanatical devotion, to speculate?

2) Now that's just crazy talk.

Token black guy needs to be Luke Cage or Black Panther, damnit!

Most people only know Nick Fury through the movies, since comics enjoy a limited readership now, not accounting for future declines. So Jackson will be the most popular depiction of Fury for a long while.

Bought MvC2 last night. I've been experimenting with a Cyke-B/Silver Sam-Y/Tron-Y team. Seems like a nice balance between underrated and overpowered.

Yeah, I'm still hoping that if SHIELD movie happens Jackson Fury will be outed as an imposter and the real Fury has to take him down

Hahaha, that would be hilarious. But it'd probably also be borderline insulting to Jackson, at the very least, if not perceived as outright racist. Comic fans can shout to high heaven that the 616 Fury is the better or "real" or "proper" one or whatever, but I suspect most people out there will just see Hollywood shafting a black actor--a very popular one, at that--in favor of a white one.

Personally, black or white, I don't care. I just wish the movie/Ultimate Fury were more like Nick Fury and not "Sam Jackson as Sam Jackson playing Nick Fury," if you know what I mean.
