Capcom Marvel vs. Capcom 3

Well, now you know how the rest of us felt back in the 90s when they gave us Shuma-Gorath, of all characters. I am glad Capcom had some more input this time around, because Capcom Japan just picks the most random characters whenever they do their versions of U.S. entertainment.

It seems Capcom is giving the fans a little bit of what they want. For instance from what I've heard Ammy was heavily demanded by fans.

This roster has already proven to much better than MVC2. MVC2 may have had the larger roster, but MVC3's much more appealing to me. MVC2 was basically X-Men vs Street Fighter and Darkstalkers, with special guests on each side.

i wonder if capcom will be adding anymore street fighters (Ken, Crimson Viper, Juri?) or are they gonna go and grab like like Bionic Commando and Rival School characters. any word on how large the rosters going to be?

The game was announced they said 30 and were trying to add more. They said were trying to have more than SSF4.

The creators have also said they didn't want characters that are similar to another. So that excludes Ken and any other shotos. No offense to you and other people that want them, but I say good. With the limited roster I want as many unique characters as possible.

If there's one more SF character I'm betting it's Bison. Because he's a villain(which the Capcom side is lacking) and a classic. Plus somebody on the team said he likes writing for not only SF villains but RE villains as well.

And they've already said no Rival School characters.

I want Cammy. I really wish she were the female chosen to represent the brand in these kind of games instead of it always being Chun Li by default. Cammy's style is unique and its the clones from SFA3 that replicate her but they arent big enough to take her place

Cammy will never be in Chun Li's place. Chun Li was one of the first strong female characters to come to video games so she'll always get to represent Street Fighter by default.

personally i dont care if he doesn't show, Ryu's my guy. but Ken is almost always right by his side, and you know people will always make the argument that even though theyre the same style they play very differently.

They may not be 100% the same, but they're not that much different from each other.

Yeah, lack of shotokan fighters is fine, because people are already gonna spam every other projectile that the Marvel characters have anyways.

That and plus there's gonna be SF vs Tekken. There's no need to fill the roster with a whole bunch of SF characters. They can focus on other franchises.

I know but they come from the same era. Chun Li was created in 1991, and Cammy in 1993. It wouldnt be like putting Elena or Ibuki in there

Chun Li is pretty much the female character of gaming outside maybe Lara Croft, and she's easily the most recognizable SF outside Ryu, Ken, and maybe Bison. Even if the time they were introduced are kind of close, if there's ever going to just one female SF character to make it into a crossover, it's going to be Chun Li.

I like her, don't get me wrong, she's my favorite female fighting game character after Chun Li, but by 1993 her impact on gaming just wouldn't be as strong.

so i thought i'd be cool and complete the circle of fighters behind each person.... and try to figure out who's silhouettes are left.... but there's alot we've seen now that arn't even in those silhouettes..... sooo that was a bust. its only like 10 people (if that) repeated

Any guy, and even some chicks, that are at least in their 40s or younger can hear that "ya-ya-ya-ya" battle scream and know it's Chun-Li doing her lightning kick.

well I was sticking to SF. in 1993, Chun Li and Cammywere pretty much it for Capcom

They may not be 100% the same, but they're not that much different from each other.

There are real differences if you look. Sure, most of the punches and kicks are similar, but Ryu's got more focus on projectiles, where Ken is more Anti-Air, which is more defensive.

The only silhouetters yet to be revealed our Spidey & Frank West. I'm hoping Capcom releases some new ones with the next trailer.

yeah, i hope so too... how many characters (at least) are left to be revealed? Spidey's def a sure thing.

There's 18 characters revealed so far if they want at the same as SSFIV that be at least 36 characters.So about 9 for each side.Thats my guess.

That's kind of a shame to me. I like Cammy a lot more than Chun Li.
