Jean's health is pathetic from the gameplay thats been shown. She goes down in like 5-6 hits. I hope they tweak her before release

yeah but if you die with full power bars you get ressurrected as dark phoenix with another health bar. Seth Killian just recently said Dark Phoenix is the most powerful character they've ever put in a capcom fighting game

The low hit points might be in place for balance. With here being able to revive and all and unleash freaking hell on the opponent.

You need 5 levels of your super meter though and thats huge. Id rather they made her slightly less powerful but more durable

Everyone's got their pros and cons. Jean seems to have a great offense with ranged attacks. So naturally she won't be as endurant as say Hulk. I honestly don't see a problem.

Capcom co-owns Hiryu, don't they? I don't see how they can lose rights to something they co-created.

Oh, duh! Whoops. Yeah, they co-created Hiryu. But I don't buy his deconfirm from MvC3 for that. They'd been claiming only half a year before MvC3 was announced that it would take them forever to get through legal so they could make another Marvel game. If they really wanted him in, they could've made it work during the +2 years of development.

Agreed. Im the same way with any of these types of games, i want to use my fav characters regardless of what they can or cant do. Same in Marvel: Ultimate Alliance. You see ppl b****ing about a characters powers, i dont care if their power is similar to another, im using my fav character.

It's the best attitude to take, and not exclusive to casual play, either. People who use one character tend to win over people who follow tier lists, since they tend to know what's possible more than the other guy. Marvel's cool, too, since it's a team game. So even if your character isn't the absolute best, you can pair them with other characters you like who compliment them.

On Phoenix: I think she's pretty much the counterpart to Akuma. Potentially best in the game, but bleeds out in two or three combos. Dark Phoenix is crazy. The double projectiles and frame trap possibilities remind me a lot of how Akuma was in Super Turbo...the "tournament banned 'cause he's too good" Akuma.

Im nto saying she should be as endurant as the Hulk, but she shouldnt be able to be taken out in 5 regular hits. Thats just ridiculous

If she had an average health bar, Phoenix could easily become the answer to every other character. That's really bad for game balance and fun. With low health, she becomes a high risk, high reward choice.

That's probably moot, anyways. With a battery character to build up 5 meters for her before she's even tagged in, most people won't care if normal Phoenix gets KO'd since you'll always have Dark Phoenix to fall back on.

Yep I was just about to post this.. I can pretty much guarantee that's exactly how competitive fighters will use her just like Kaijin No Soki in TvC

I'm looking forward to the story mode. I don't really play multiplayer games at all anymore, so the story mode and the random computer matches are basically this whole game to me.

Yeah, okay. Because I was about to say, I really don't see any need to buy if you were only going to play single player. Fighting games are rarely, if ever, worth very much like that.

I know. That's why I usually never buy shooters (except Valve's), either. I rent 'em, knock out the story mode in like 2 days, and send 'em back.

Jean's health is drained in her Dark Phoenix form, but you also have to remember she can heal herself and she heals QUICK.

TvC is an excellent game, and MvC3's controls are the same as TvC's default Gamecube controls (3 attacks, instead of MvC2's 4 attacks and MvC's 6 attacks).

TvC and MvC3 have a lot in common. The simple mode is essentially the way TvC plays with just a wiimote. Whereas the more ''difficult" game play is like WolfCypher said.

In fact I think I'll play some TvC tonight.
