What If Marvel's What If...? - General Discussion

I was pleasantly surprised by the first episode and my excitement was completely non-existent. Now gimme Captain Carter in live action!

I thought it was great too:word:.
Well done:applaud.

I still can't get over the fact that in Shaft (2000) they took Jeffrey Wright, who has one of the greatest voices out there, and made him talk with that ridiculous Dominican(?) accent.

I enjoyed the first episode, but now I wish we didn't have to wait a week for the next one because it feels like so far this is definitely a show that works better binging all at once.

Aw, man! I was hoping they’d have the first two episodes at least! :csad:

I can definitely see the quality of the show varying from episode to episode with some great ones and others being meh.

Any cartoon or episodic show is like that. What I am hoping is that this is not what the average episode looks like from a quality standpoint. I hope this is just an example of one of the lesser episodes that suffered from growing pains and that they get better from here after working out some bugs. If this ends up being the quality of most of the show, then Iron Man 2 will have finally been dethroned for me at the bottom

Shaft 2000 was actually the first time I saw both of these actors

Really enjoyed the first episode. I am a bit confused about why they replaced Tommy Lee Jones' character altogether with Bradley Whitford's. Like, they already had Josh Brolin onboard, they could have just used his TLJ impression from MIB3.

Also, that cameo seemed like a waste of Darryl Hammond's talents.

But all in all, can't wait to see more of Captain Carter and whatever comes next week!

Speaking of Jeffrey Wright, his ex-wife Carmen Ejogo has been rumored (although not confirmed) for Secret Invasion

I think it was so they could have a character that butted heads with Peggy. I don't think Philips would have had an issue with Peggy getting the SS serum in those circumstances.

Yeah I really liked the first episode of What If...

I wasn't all that excited for the show going in either but the first episode was a pleasant surprise. I'm dying for more Captain Carter (preferably in live action) I do think Atwell overdid it at times when it came to voice acting though.

Hopefully the show keeps it up the rest of the way. Episode 2 should be very interesting.

For all the hupplah over what actors crossed over and which didn't, I think it was really clear that keeping the same cast isn't always ideal. Voice acting is very different from live action. And the difference between Josh Keaton's performance in this episode and the returning cast members (especially Stan) was really clear IMO.

Sebastian Stan really seemed off, came across super flat. Overall I thought Atwell did a pretty good job but felt she sounded too "gung-ho" at times.
