How would you rate it next to Leviathan & Lair of the Shadow Broker?

As Upset SPidey said I would have to agree with Shadow Broker being the better with this and Leviathan pretty close together. There are some cool locations but you're pretty much just running around killing everything in sight, a little more dialogue would have been nice, but that's just me.

Did you manage to find [blackout] Aria's couch? [/blackout] I was looking for it and missed the damn thing, cost me the sidequest completion achievement.

haha no, I wasn't really looking that hard towards the end of the mission but I couldn't see it anywhere.

Ah, that's not so bad. I didn't think they'd overhaul it or anything. It's gonna be a trip to go back and playthrough that game after all the changes the series has undergone. Hard to believe it's only been five years. I feel like I played that game on the original Xbox.

My question is, will BW patch ME2 and 3 to support the import decisions that ME1 brings to the table? Will we still have to endure the digital comic when we play ME2 or will our ME1 Shepard import? Will PS3 ME2 and 3 now offer Gianna Parasini's quests or Conrad Verner?

They've said that ME2 will be patched day of release, apparently ME3 is already good to go.

Insanity is super easy on NG+ with Lvl 10 weapons, bonus power & nearly all powers maxed out. ME1 & ME3 really reward levelling up while ME2 punishes the hell out of it!

I actually wish there was a way (on the Xbox) I could reset my level back to 1 and do a run through on Insanity.

Does it not start at level 1 if you choose a new character & save file rather than importing?

Yeah, even though it was still easy overall (especially relative to ME2), the last checkpoint on Earth with the Banshees and everything else is pretty challenging with lvl 5 weapons. Banshees are a really well designed enemy class actually, kind of fun to get beaten by them & fun trying to figure out how to take on a lot of them at the same time when you're pinned down by fire from all sides.

Yeah, I meant with an imported character. I don't think I've ever started ME2 or 3 with a "New" character.

They can be intimidating as hell. The whole teleport and scream thing just makes me tense. God, I'm just imagining having to fend off Banshees and Ramparts off at the same time.

Best thing is when you're distracted in a massive firefight backed into cover right near the back of a dead end room, & have just finished your clip & unloaded all of your teammates (& your own) powers. You duck for respite while you reload & see a silent Banshee pre-teleport phase has somehow crept up on you. :woot:

Looking forward to taking on the new enemies. Might get to start Omega tonight if I finish the last 7 or 8 missions of Insanity I have left (for Unwavering).

Picked this up on black friday. Never played the first two, but I think it wont bother my enjoyment of this one. I did the same thing with God of War. Played the 3rd one first and later got the collection. Looking forward to playing in this universe.:)

What system? Do you know that the trilogy pack is out?

Ps3. Yeah i saw that the trilogy pack is coming out dec 4. Thought about returning #3 and getting it, but its $25 more and while its the logical choice I dont want to plunk down $50 when I dont even know if I will like the games. Im comfortable paying $25 to try the third one. I figure if i do like it by the time ive played it through and done all i can in it I can grab the trilogy for cheaper.

I'll be interested to hear what you think since you'll be missing out on a crapton of characters and stuff from the other games. Kinda weird to start with 3.

IIRC certain characters don't even show up in 3 if you haven't played the others.

Yeah, it's very hard to appreciate a whole load of stuff without playing the previous games. Much more so than for most other games anyway. But I guess if you like 3, you might play the other 2 after and then replay 3 and you will get the full experience.

Its the ME1 default choices and a pretty bloody suicide mission without the full roster.

Playing with ME3 without playing the other two is really bad. The Krogan are in bad hands (might as well let them die off if Wrex isn't leading), Kaidan's dead, you can't romance Tali & like half of the ME2 characters are dead.

That"s what i did with god of war, assassins creed, and uncharted. I played Uncharted 2 first then went back and played the first then all three in order when 3 came out. The way I buy games is if its on sale Ill pick it up whether it is the first second or third game doesnt matter cause i always end up buying the rest if I like it and playing it in proper order eventually.

ME isn't really like those games, though. The best part about Mass Effect is the characters and your time spent interacting with and going through the story with them, so jumping in on the third just seems like you're really selling yourself short of getting the full experience, especially since some of the best characters don't even show up in ME3 if you haven't played ME2.

It'd be kinda like watching Return of the Jedi or Return of the King having never seen a Star Wars or Lord of the Rings film.

Those games don't really have branching storylines to the degree of Mass Effect across 3 games. But you'll get it after ME3 like you say if you go back and play all 3 games with the same imported save.

Haha yeah, it would be like playing a Return of the Jedi game but instead of Luke Skywalker & Han Solo who weren't in your playthrough you get random Jedi & random rogue character.

You get relegated to worst-case outcomes throughout most of the game, with a new import, if memory serves.

On another note, they had Seth Green back in the studio recording more lines for Joker.

Also apparently there's an Engineer-specific interrupt in Omega, I'd like to see them go and include more of that type of stuff in future releases.

Why the hell would play a series that way? You are doing yourself a great disservice playing a title like ME3 before playing the others. It really is stupid to play a later game first as most titles tend to advance making gameplay in their predecessors seem lacking. Do yourself a favor and start playing games in order.

Do it as you wish but in this case I would highly recommend doing them in order. The attachment you form with your Shepard across the series is part of what makes it so cool. Also you might not like how the first game feels after getting used to the more shootery feel of 3 (I had a difficult time sticking with it when I went back and started my renegade after ME2).
