I hate bringing more spoiler to this thread (as many people are already very careful about visiting this thread), but I thought that maybe someone would like to know this. An image of Jack from the upcoming artbook has just showed up and the description reveals what her role in ME3 will be.
You have been warned
I meant for a first time player.
And I agree, the first game hasn't aged especially well.
Conrad Vernor does return.
I think the Cerberus side missions are probably worth doing.
I'm all for continuing the series after 3. My main concern is...how? How can you possibly go on telling more stories (with villains of course) that can be better than the Reapers. What other compelling threat can be brought up keep the games going?
The only thing I can think of that would make for another good game(s), is a full blown out war between Citadel Space, and the Terminus Systems.
Does a threat need to match the Reapers to be better or more interesting?
I would personally be much more interested in a future game showing the Mass Effect universe on a much smaller day to day scale. Like maybe some kind of Heavy Rain type of game where you play as a C-Sec detective trying to solve crimes. Or a space sim where you play as a smuggler tying pick up and deliver illegal cargo while evading Council forces. Stuff like that. Not every game needs to have some huge world-ending threat. But I doubt my ideas are viable mass market propositions, thus nothing like them will ever get made.

Yeah, I don't always get the "The next threat needs to be bigger than the last." thing. The whole galaxy doesn't have to be at stake, there doesn't need to be genocide of several species. Just give me a tight personal story.
