If I were a betting man, there will be absolutely no references to the DCEU or a wider DC universe in this movie. I'm expecting the full stand-alone treatment ala Chris Nolan. That doesn't necessarily mean that fans can't treat it as in-continuity with the DCEU in their own head canon, but I doubt it is ever explicitly linked.
Again like the arrowverse or comics. What you say will not negate it being part of the same overall canon. We all bought Keaton morphing into Kilmer overnight without any explicit reference outside of retained cast members (Hingle and Gouth).

I know, but then there is also nothing there to confirm it within that canon either. So it is only canon or not in the eyes of the viewer, which is fine if that ambiguity floats your boat.

My revisits:

Batman: Broken City
Batman: Dark Victory
Batman: Ego
Batman: Gothic
Batman: Hush
Batman: The Long Halloween
Batman: Year One
All amazing stories. Batman Gothic and broken city are the only ones i still haven't read but ill get on that.

Honestly fine with this. If the characters aren’t going to crossover any time soon, like within the next 5 years, who cares?

I don't care which way they choose as long as the film is amazing. But I do wish they'd clarify this.

Just read a post on the DC Cinematic subreddit where OP said that they think Ben retweeting the article was a publicity stunt to get people talking and he’s still Batman in the DCEU despite there being a young actor needed for The Batman.

Oh god

I love Zimmer, but I want someone new. Zimmer delivered in TDK trilogy. Will he want to do another Batman score? I think I read he wrote stuff for Superman in BvS, but not for Batman, because he said he couldn't do it. Speaking of Radiohead, Suspiria was probably the most memorable soundtrack of recent for me. I'd be interested if Thom Yorke did the score for Batman. Though chance are...

I agree about Zimmer. Don’t think he would I want to come back to Batman again and I want something new. I think the new Spider-man movies have done a great job of incorporating classic themes in modern/contemporary ways.

It's always exciting when you get something completely fresh. Fans can look forward to:

New Bruce Wayne/Batman

New look for Gotham City

New Bat-Gadgets

New Bat-mobile/Bat-Wing

New actors for the supporting characters

New theme (hopefully)

It'll be interesting to see what Reeves' comes up with.

Predictions, for fun.

New Batman: No idea. I always have a difficult time casting the lead. It’ll probably be an unknown or rising actor in their mid-to-late twenties.

New Gotham: Based on his comments, I think we’ll see a very grimy, industrial Gotham, with obvious and striking splashes of color to identify the unnatural.

New Gadgets: I honestly don’t think we’ll see anything crazy. I don’t think the bat-themed gadgets will be much present or even particularly stylized (so, basically, what Nolan did).

New Batmobile: I think it’ll be a sleek, armored car. Not a tank; but an actual car.

New Actors: That’d make this long ass post longer.

New Theme: Something subtle, but ultimately powerful and somber sounding. It doesn’t blast your head off like most superhero scores, but there’s something about it that pulls you in and makes you want to listen every time.

It would be noce to find a young actor who clearly loves playing batman and wants to do it as long as jackman with wolverine or downey with ironman.

Gutted Ben's presence is not being required in the film in any capacity. :(

So.. what actually is this movie then? Is this a standalone movie connected in absolutely no way to the DCEU? or is it going to be connected even vaguely, just with a new actor in place as The Bat?

These are the questions I need to know the answer to.

Denial is the first stage
