Movie 2: ???

Movie 1: Avengers 3
Movie 2: Start Phase 4


My guess is that 2017 movie 2 will either be Guardians 2, Black Panther or TIH 2.

Appears that way. I'm personally rooting for TIH2 to be the other 2017 film! Been wanting one for a while, and I think Ruffallo earned it. GotG2 could be an early phase 4 film (maybe even the 1st phase 4 film) and Black Panther can be introduced potentially in an Avengers film (be held until phase 4 when the line-up likely gets a shake up).

They don't have to do that. The Avengers deal with their own issues/threats while still being part of the team all the time in the comics. Plus, Thor is the character who you could do that most easily, since he's a god/alien/whatever from another world. As for the 2017 film, I'd much rather have either a Captain Marvel, Black Widow, or Inhumans movie before TIH 2.

So, based on this news and Dr. Strange's short list, Phase 3 currently looks like:

2015: July - Ant-Man
2016: May - Captain America 3, & July - Dr. Strange
2017: ??? - Thor 3, & ??? - _____________
2018: May - Avengers 3 (likely but not confirmed)

I too never thought Cap 3 would actually come first. But, WOOT WOOT!!!! Looks to be in good hands, too. That also gives them time to find a solid creative team to make Thor 3 epic.

I'm personally hoping for Hulk 2 in that last 2017 spot. Right now, that could be Black Panther, Inhumans, Guardians of the Galaxy 2, or Hulk 2. Heck, with RDJ saying he'd be open to it, maybe it is Iron Man 4! But, my heart is set on more Hulk!

I do think Crystal and Medusa of Inhumans should be played by women of color.

I also agree that if it isn't Hulk 2, I'd like it to be Black Panther...depending on what they do with Iron Man 4! The concept would greatly influence my level of interest.

I'll probably revise my list, but I put IM 4 at 2 only if RDJ returns. If he doesn't I'll have Black Panther at #2. In the BP thread, we addressed many of the concerns the film has. Instead of Everett Ross, I'd replace him with Clint Barton.

That would be a good idea. Have him be the #2 in Black Panther, as opposed to totally absent (ala Phase 2) or likely a lower supporting character (like he would be in Cap 3).

- An idea has been floated around in the BP thread that if Shuri is in the film that Lupita Nyong'o should play her. I like Lupita but I'd rather see her play a character we'll see in multiple Marvel movies rather than a one off, which I think Shuri would be.

You missed the point. Of course Disney doesn't want Cap 3 coming out on the same day as another major release. This announcement isn't "We're fine with Cap 3 and Superman vs Batman sharing a weekend." This announcement is "We think WB is going to yield the weekend to us."

Whose risking more? Who is worth more at the Box Office? Disney is subjectively offering less to the General Audience Than WB is.

I just have a feeling a lot of people are going to be SUPER let down by BvS....a lot of people are like "You just gotta be positive!!" But why is there a need to say that already? I don't recall the last Marvel film where you had a bunch of people saying "It's going to be good, trust me! You just need to stay positive!" :P


Don't get me wrong...I want BvS to be good...but the more info that comes out the more my anticipation drops.
