Marvel Films MCU Phase IV!

Then in that case what I would do:

2020- Black Widow (May 2020), Eternals (November 2020)

2021- Black Panther 2 (February 2021), Shang Chi (May 2021), Doctor Strange 2 (November 2021)

2022- Captain Marvel 2 (April 2022), Spider Man 3 (July 2022), Ant Man 3 (August 2022)

Then 2023 I would have Fantastic Four and X Men and then Avengers 5

nahh the X Men and F4 should be out sooner as Black Panther 2 and DS 2 because with Shang Chi and Eternals Marvel Studios should move forward to introduce new characters into the MCU

Since Shang-Chi now has a director, I will move that movie up

2020
Black Widow
Eternals

2021
Black Panther 2
Doctor Strange 2
Shang-Chi

2022
Captain Marvel 2- introdues adult Monica Rambeau, Ms. Marvel (Kamala Khan), and Moonstone
Guardians of the Galaxy 3
Spider-Man 3- a street-level team-up movie involving Spider-Man, Black Widow, Nick Fury, and Shang-Chi.
Thor 4

2023
Avengers 5- a cosmic adventure. None of the original Avengers appear. Captain Marvel, Back Panther, and Doctor Strange will be the main players.
Ant-Man 3- this will be a team film, with two Ant-Men, two Wasps, one Goliath, and Ghost. Cassie Lang will adopt a superhero identity.
Eternals 2
Captain Britain and the Black Knight

2024
Ms. Marvel- spin-off of Captain Marvel
Nova- spin-off of Guardians
Uncanny X-Men- introduces mutants to the MCU, but no Wolverine
Dark Avengers- the Masters of Evil/Thunderbolts get a movie

2025
Fantastic Four
Doctor Strange 3
Wolverine- introduces Wolverine to the MCU
Black Widow 2

I think they will, especially if you look at the slate.
Widow - likely a prequel that shouldn't connect to anything
Eternals - might set up future things, but likely contained
Shang -Chi - same thing. It'll be focused on him and his world

There won't be some big Avengers type event building towards (that we know of)

It's hard to imagine what closes out a "phase" if there isn't some major event. Personally I'm fine if there isn't. It lets each movie be its own thing instead having to mandated connections.

Don't forget Ant-Man closed out phase 2 and not Age of Ultron. So, it doesn't have to be a major event.
I remember Feige saying he was wanted to do away with the whole "Phase" thing too

No...I just think its silly that so many fans expect a trilogy to be the standard...and never seem to have any real reason to support why that is. EVERY franchise, not just the MCU, is talked about in expected trilogy terms...and I find it ridiculous. It's a silly argument either way, my own side included.

And you said that NO MCU movie hasnt gotten a sequel...and when I pointed out Hulk, you called that the obvious exception because of a good reason. 1 because of a good reason is not the same as 0. Not a big deal, just sayin.

**EDITED because has and hasnt are two very different things and I dont want to incorrectly describe the stance.
Again you are putting words into my mouth which is the real silly thing here. I didn't say anything about being "standard", I'm just stating my assumption that Marvel Stud10s seems to have a trilogy plan for the solo films, not that I agree or prefer the solo films to be contained as a trilogy. And why is it silly to expect that there will be just a trilogy? as if we any have evidence right now that we would get Iron Man 4, Capt. America 4, Thor 4, Ant-Man 4, Spider-Man 4, Black Panther 4, Capt. Marvel 4, Dr. Strange 4... later on! Maybe you do thats why you're so pressed about people expecting a trilogy and just a trilogy.

And forgive me, that I forgot The Incredible Hulk, the most memorable film in the mcu, good God! That somehow made my point wrong, why are you throwing a fit and punishing fans aka me with your post for expecting a trilogy to happen.

Not throwing a fit. I just asked for an explanation. It's something I find odd in film discussions...that 3 movies is some magic number for no reason whatsoever. I think my post was clearly pretty laid back about it, but sorry that it was taken otherwise. Oh well. Have a great day.

I was only referring to the MCu and I'm not talking about any magic number. Again, we aren't getting Iron Man 4, Capt. America 4 and Thor 4, and why would I assume Marvel Studios to do it differently with the other headlining heroes especially there's zero evidence as of the moment.

Its weird that we are getting the Doctor Strange sequel, five years after the first one and thats if it gets released in 2021.

I think your timetable, looks great and I hope that is close to whats going to happen in the future. Though I think I would release Dr. Strange 2 before Black Panther 2, though I can see why you are keeping them in Feb/nov. I would also swap Ant-Man and Capt. Marvel.

Then 2023 I would have Fantastic Four and X Men and then Avengers 5

Thats a bit much for a single year. But I wouldn't complain. For me, that would be the most eXciting year for the mcu.

2023 should definitely feature Avenger5.

Feige did mention something a while back about due to the fact their slate getting so packed we might have to wait longer for sequels.

The major event of Phase 4 would be the arrival of the Fantastic Four imo right at the tail end of phase 4. Which would expand the MCU and start teasing the next big arcs which would probably be Doctor Doom and Galactus.

A mostly standalone phase after a 22 film infinity stone / Thanos arc might not be a bad idea then start building up to Doom.

Yeah but I just didn't expect after Doctor Strange 1, we would get two Spider-Man films, Black Widow and Eternals before Doctor Strange 2. Like to me, thats the one sequel that I feel is overdue other than gotg3 but we know the reason for that one.

And this is why I feel like they need to wrap most of the solo heroes (if they intend to not make a 4th film) with their solo films before releasing a Fantastic Four film.

Oh yea I agree. Doctor Strange 2 really should be coming out this November.

I just realized with that post of mine that we are getting TWO Spider-Man films after Ds1 and before Ds2. And I'm like wow and Ds2 isn't even confirmed for 2021. I hope Ds3 wouldnt take as long to make as Ds3.

its not confirmed no but heavily rumored im pretty sure the THR report hinted at a 2021 release with production beginning next spring.

I would bet that its gonna be released in 2021, because they can't really do a six year gap even if its the great Marvel Stud10s.

Like I said before, I'd put good money on 2020 being Black Widow and Eternals with Black Panther 2, Doctor Strange 2, Shang-Chi and probably Spidey 3 in 2021.

After that is anyone's guess. Only thing I can speculate on is a sequel to Captain Marvel and a third Ant-Man movie

2022
Captain Marvel 2
Guardians 3
and a Fox property reboot (either team or solo)

Very possible. I'm hoping Fantastic 4 in '22, but I think we could see the third Ant-Man movie in 2022 as well

I think they should get Ant-man and gotg out of the way before the first X-Men film. Like its very possible that those two like the big 3 would be limited to a trilogy. Gotg should come out at least in 2022, its weird how the firing of James Gunn is delaying the film for like two years especially it was planned for a 2020 release.

I'm curious why you think the fantastic four would be coming so late? I'd expect F4 in 2022 or 2023.

Simply because Marvel has a lot in their plate, and a lot of the sequels right now are taking more than 3 years just to be released. And they gotta save something for the 2030s. When I was writing that list, I was already running out of heroes that I think could launch solo films. 6 years from now isn't that long considering that they still have many heroes yet that will get a solo 2nd/3rd film and possibly be released in the next 6 years.
