Marvel Films MCU Phase IV!

Black Widdow will be a more grounded movie with smaller stakes.
But I can‘t wait for the russian vibes, spionage action, Rachel Weisz and Taskmaster.

Okay, but that's a different statement than what was being addressed in my previous post.

None of that changes the fact you said most of the actors SuperT mentioned were cast when they were "younger"...the implication being "younger than 40". which was the point being addressed in my previous post.

I did generally said that comic book actors are typically cast young or younger than 40 and i were given some imho bad examples.

And even Chris Pratt was mentioned when he was cast at 34 years old.

Regardless Natalie Portman is 38. Going to be 40 when Thor 4 hits theaters.

Does she get a sequel or trilogy as Thor ?

A 40+ year old tiny Thor is a joke to me. You can love it. For me its a bad joke.

Next Thor movie is gonna be named : Tiny , Skinny , Old Man Thor and the Seven Dwarfs in the Sea of Hugs & Kisses.

.

Sorry, there's nothing you guys can do to convince me that internet polls are reliable. Especially IGN polls, dear god.
It's not reliable. But I believe that some people are more interested in Blade than Black widow. I can't wait for Black Widow, but I'm looking forward to Blade more than I'm looking forward to Black Widow or even Thor 4.

Doctor Strange 2
Blade
Eternals
Falcon & the Winter Soldier
Black Widow
WandaVision
Shang-Chi
What if
Thor L&T
Loki
Hawkeye

Blade 3 was released in 2004. The character hasn't been relevant in decades (even in the comics he's kinda been forgotten). Meanwhile, Black Widow is one of the main characters of the MCU, the most popular movie franchise of all time.

He's never been a big deal in the comics. People know him because of those Snipes movies (the same way people know Black Widow because of the mcu) , the last of which came out 15 years ago...not decades lol. At the time most people who saw those movies did not know Blade was a comic book character. Many probably still don't know. However once this thing becomes a reality those people are going to like seeing him interact with other mcu characters, IMO.

IGN readers don't speak for the majority. They're gamers, man. Since when do we trust gamers.

I'm not even talking about that IGN poll. Couldn't tell you a thing about that site other than I've watched a few movie related videos from them on youtube. That poll was just the jump off point of this particular conversation.

The Merc-With-The-Mouth will return.
Ryan Reynolds isn’t going to give up his creative control to Kevin Feige that easily. Asked Tim Miller, Reynolds seems like a nice guy, but I think he is brutally controlling.
When does Phase 5 start?

I'm more interested in Blade. I think there's a LOT of possibilities there. I just don't know how they'll do it right within the constraints Disney generally puts on movies. Strange and Thor have been my favorite characters for just about ever, but I have some real reservations about Jane Foster re-emerging. Hey, I'll watch them all, but those 3 are the ones that have my attention at the moment.

DP is another character with the same challenges as Blade. I don't, however, see Ryan Reynolds having much choice when it comes to creative control unless he works it out with the God Emperor of Marvel. While I loved DP, it's not critical to the MCU moving forward and, while I'm sure Feige and Disney are all about making money, they have bigger fish to fry than DP.

I totally didn't think of the "creative control" aspect to this. Very good point. It would be like having the unstoppable force vs. the immovable object in a meeting together.

Maybe they will find a compromise.
Or Feige can let Reynolds do what he want. They can easily have Deadpool 3 as its own thing.
Its a 2 movie $1560 mil franchise. They will find a way.

Were I Disney/Marvel and didn't have any particular plans for DP going forward, I'd certainly do that. It will most certainly be under another label, but, hey, $100M here, a $100M there and pretty soon you're talking real money (always liked take offs of that line).

Wait wut ? I didnt know Scarlett Witch will be in Doctor Strange 2 ?

That movie just shot up in my anticipated movies list.

I can't see Reynolds and Feige working things out, they seems to have different visions of Deadpool.
Everything seems to be okay between the two men now, but when they actually start working together, I think all hell will break loose.
I think Feige is not interested in doing Deadpool, but it was forced on him by the merger.
Feige easily was able to disposed the Gambit project, the X-Men franchise and other planned mutants movies, but Deadpool is a different beast.
Success can be blinding, because the MCU has been so successful, there is a tendency not to change anything and keep the status quo.

So, I've just unsubscribed to multiple YouTube channels for their consistent "Woke" content (The Quartering, That Star Wars Girl, Geeks & Gamers, etc). I've had enough! Mahershala Ali's Blade to be a Muslim?! Phase IV is going to be so "woke" because Natalie Portman is going to be Thor?! Complaining about Terminator: Dark Fate (I'll give my thoughts in the appropriate thread later) and Lashana Lynch being given the 007 designation in the next Bond film?! There's got to be a reason behind the latter so I'm not jumping to conclusions like those idiots and their toxic channels on YT!!! It's all gotten out of hand, and I even find it ironic how these channels suddenly came out of the woodwork following the consistent bashing of The Last Jedi. Anyhoo, trying to stay on topic...

I'm actually quite looking forward to what Taika Waititi does with the next Thor outing. As for Natalie Portman's height - I wouldn't object to Jane transforming ala Donald Blake and thus, a different actress that fits Thor's attributes like say, Gwendoline Christie? And maybe it's time for Amora the Enchantress to finally make her debut in the MCU given the title "Love and Thunder..."

And also excited for the Doctor Strange sequel too. Still hoping that they will find a way to bring Quicksilver back too, so maybe a multi-verse iteration of Pietro could be plausible?

Shangi-Chi, I gotta admit I know nothing about, but interesting to have the real Mandarin becoming a thing at last.

I'm very excited to see what Phase 4 has in store, even after the post-credits shown in Far from Home. And of course, I'm thrilled about the Fantastic Four being announced. Casting announcements, please!! :D

You might be right, but I tend to think Feige can pretty much do what he dang well wants unless it's way out there. He's built up a lot of credibility (billions....LOL) and I think they pretty much let him sail his own ship. If there were legal entanglements, that might be another story, but I don't see anyone really being able to change direction without his explicit approval.

Their best bet might just be to release it, but not have Disney proper do it.

Deadpool is already a very successful franchise without Feige influences. There is no good reason Feige should stick his ego into it.

I think you're just projecting something that's not there. I think Feige recognizes the success that FOX had with Deadpool I/II - he'd be a fool not too.

With Dr. Strange 2 coming and dealing with a true multiverse -- it would be pretty easy to say that the Deadpool adventures continue in an alternate universe and no one would bat an eye.

If Feige doesn’t want to do Deadpool right now he won’t do it. No one is forcing anything on him and risking the golden goose leaving. The guy has been successfully juggling RDJ all this time so he can manage Reynolds appropriately too. It might be best to have Deadpool in his own meta corner where any other MCU characters can appear but none of it counts towards the MCU. Releasing it under a different label would help so that parents are in no doubt that this one isn’t for the kids.

There’s degrees of success. I don’t think Deadpool is going to give us 23 more successful films. The novelty of the amazing first film will start wearing off at some stage IMO. And does Feige really strike you as an egocentric guy? I don’t get that at all from him whenever I hear him speak. I’m sure he respects the Deadpool franchise.

Yeah I saw one recently with a bunch of black guys (Jody's Corner) mitching and boaning about woman Thor and forced diversity. I'm like seriously guys? You realize the people you're aligning with say the same crap about movies starring people that look like you (and me)…? :wall:

DP budget $58m b/o $783m
DP2 budget $110m b/o $785m
Please, it’s more than just a degree.

No solo superhero is going to give us 23 successful movies.

If Feige thinks he can make DP better, he is sadly mistaken.
