Marvel Films MCU Phase IV!

I'm super excited for the multiverse going forward but I'm still in "protect my expectations" mode. There is some stuff I want but don't know if we will get.

Sometimes I think we will get MCU characters other versions and then that's it... multiverse. But then sometimes I think Marvel will reference other projects outside of the MCU like Fox X-Men or Sony's Spider-Man. We will see I guess. I just don't want to get too hyped.

doubt it. Just consider what effects this would have on the Disney+ series
She-Hulk ( probably depends on Spider-man NWH)
Moon Knight ( probably depends on Multiverse of Madness and NWH)
Secret Invasion (depends on a lot)
Armor Wars (probably depends on Quantumania)
Loki Season 2 ( most likely depends on Quantumania and Thor L&T)
Guardians Holiday Special (depends probably on Thor L&T)

And they couldn’t have another optimistic investors presentation (most likely during D23 in November) just to postpone everything again.

If Kevin Feige wants everything being connected, there are some bitter pills now, he have to swallow.
Multiverse of Madness probably being the first MCU movie, that could count on full theatrical capacities
If they think moving to another month would give them more $ at the boX office when the movie is out, they would move.

I wonder if Phase 4 is going to end in 2023 or continue in 2024. By the end of 2023, there would have been 12 to 14 movies and at least 10 live action streaming series. Thats a lot of content for Phase 4.

So after GOTG3 looks James Gunn will no longer be involved with Marvel and will be fully invested with DC, do you think Disney regrets letting him go in the first place?

Probably. At least Kevin Feige anyway, who didn't want Gunn fired in the first place. After GOTG3, Gunn was supposed to be overseeing a bunch of future movies.

Its hard to call. I can imagine if Disney would not cancel Gunn social justice warriors would Disney alive. Im happy the scandal is nearly forgotten and forgiven but you coudnt know that.

I can understand Gunn want go to the other ship.

Imo, Kevin Feige is the only one thatthey can't afford to lose. If Marvel Studios managed to move on without the Russo Brothers, they would be fine without James Gunn. And how many GOTG movies would they make after the third one? Marvel Studios would likely continue to find more talented directors and writers for their other ips. And I wouldn't be surprised as well if MCU finally got a movie that is totally divisive (rated rotten) after 24 movies released.

As for James Gunn, taking charge in the DCEU. I'd say good luck with that. With the recent W884, DCEU as a whole is still consistent and who knows if James Wan could deliver an above average Aquaman movie.

I think the idea was that he'd stay on to assist with all cosmic stuff going forward. That could include the current Guardians, potential future members like Adam Warlock and Phyla-Vell, potential spinoffs for any members and stuff like Halfworld, classic Guardians/Ravagers led by Sylvester Stallone's Starhawk, Nova and stuff like Silver Surfer, Quasar, Shi'ar, Darkhawk, Starjammers, etc.

I was personally hoping for other people to have their own creative visions for those anyway, but I do think for at least the things Gunn has introduced like the Guardians, Ravagers and maybe Halfworld it'd be nice to have him involved in some way.

The MCU had a great development even when Jon Favreau moved on to other franchises. It also will after James Gunn will leave the franchise

I am looking forward the most to Makkari because she's a speedster, which is what the MCU desperately needs since they (stupidly) killed off Pietro. My long standing issue with the MCU is too many people with the same power sets. It's why I want Kamala to keep her stretchy powers but also have blasts as well. I don't want MCU Kamala to only have blasts coming from bracelets. If Betty Ross comes back for She Hulk, I hope she instead becomes Harpy rather than Red She Hulk. One of the characters I hope they introduce to the MCU soon is Brother Voodoo because he would bring in voodoo magic to the MCU and it would make him stand out rather than being "Black Doctor Strange." Mordo absorbs powers, so that makes him a little different than Doctor Strange and Wong. From what I have read about him, the comics version of Mordo is a teleporter, so I wouldn't mind seeing the MCU version of Mordo being a teleporter in the MCU. I am looking forward as well to the Fantastic Four as well because they would add more diverse movesets to the MCU.

The X Men as well will give the MCU a group of heroes with more diverse powers.

Why wouldn't Marvel own the likes of the Beyonder or Titania? They must surely own Titania now since she's in She-Hulk.

Its a tv series though. Titania probably can't headline her own solo movie like Hulk and She-Hulk without Universal.

According to Jim Shooter, the studio contacted him to get updated Work for Hire contracts for the characters he created for Secret Wars. Apparently the folks at Marvel couldn't locate the original documents.

It's crazy to me that they have so many films in the works. We should get a sequel for Shang-Chi and Eternals in 2024/25 if their sequel is confirmed later this year. Just back in 2016, they only released two movies. I wonder when is the neXt Avengers, imo it should happen in the mid 2020s. 2024 seems fitting to me, 5 years after Endgame. A third film for Dr. Strange and Capt. Marvel are probably guaranteed as well.

I also wonder if we are going to get logos for Deadpool, Captain America and the other D+ shows in November.

2024 would mean a Avengers film in the first year of a new phase. Instead they've always been last or 2nd to last(phase 3 being the exception since there were 2 Avengers movies).

They'll probably want to spend the first two years of the new phase telling more solo stories and establishing more new heroes. Hate to say it but I don't think we'll get a new Avengers movie until 2026.

Damn thats such a long wait especially with Shang-Chi, Eternals, Fantastic Four, Blade, Deadpool and the mutants joining the MCU and all those legacy characters popping out left and right in phase 4.

2024 could still be Phase 4 and Avengers 5 could still be the second to the last phase 4 film.
