July 17, 2015: Ant-Man
May 6, 2016: Captain America 3
July 8, 2016: Doctor Strange
May 5, 2017: Thor 3
July 28, 2017: Guardians of the Galaxy: Planet Hulk
November 3, 2017: Ms. Marvel
July 6, 2018: Black Panther
November 2, 2018: The Inhumans
May 3, 2019: The Avengers 3

Wild cards for one of the 2017-18 movies: Iron Man 4 or Ant-Man 2.

Ant-Man is already attached to a release date, so it's not one of the mystery dates. If you factor in Cap 3, Thor 3, Dr Strange, and Avengers 3, we have 4 mystery movies.

I'm hoping for Guardians&Hulk, Captain Marvel(Danvers), Black Panther, and Black Widow.

i initially wrote 8 movies including Ant man; now there is the issue of whether there are 3 movies in 2017 or not since there was a may date announced earlier.. so anything is possible

I'm extremely confident that third 2017 movie is Ms. Marvel. Reading the tea leaves. Faraci hinted that this exact scenario would happen months back.

I just don't see a Black Widow movie not that Scarlet can't carry a movie by herself I just don't see it.

Avengers 3 Is most likely July 2018.I don't see them waiting 4 years after age of ultron since Avengers sequels Is MS biggest films.

Exactly what I was thinking. There will be three years in between Avengers and Avengers: Age Of Ultron. I don't see them waiting for four years in between AOU and Avengers 3. I believe the July 2018 date is A3, and the November 2018 film will kick off Phase 4.

Let me edit what I said if Guardians of the Galaxy 2 is any of the 2017 movies than maybe I could see Avengers 3 coming out on July 6 in 2018 we will have to see.

GOTG 2 which may be a GOTG/Planet Hulk hybrid Is going to be one of 2017 films I bet.

a Kree-Skrull war movie would be good to feature Captain marvel

maybe there should be a Thanos movie where he just destroys everything in sight as a warm-up prelude for avengers 3

I see it. Scarlet to me is replacing Angelina Jolie in the action woman in Hollywood.

I think a Widow/Hawkeye film will work. Maybe Marvel can tackle the Romance/Action genre.

Would it be a good idea if Widow actually hunt down the Winter Soldier rather than Cap?

Maybe Cap 3 would not involve the WS and let Cap tackle a new threat.

I want a Black Panther film more than almost anything right now. I'll be jumping for joy if and when that film is ever announced.

INHUMANS (Vin Diesel stated in that Meeting with Marvel before that they talked about 2 IP's, I assume 1 is groot for GOTG and the other one (merging of brands) is certainly The Inhumans.

Maybe... but then again, remember that there was 4 years between The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises. Maybe part of the deal of getting Joss Whedon to come back for the third film is giving him time to make a different film in between Avengers movies?

I don't think they'll do a year with only new IPs. So I'd switch GotG2 with BP.

Also, for anyone saying they wouldn't wait 4 years between Avengers, Thor 3 is now guaranteed to be 4 years after TDW.

That very well could be the case. However, I think Nolan kind of had Warner Bros at his mercy. I've heard him talk about how he wasn't sure he wanted to do a third installment (if true, I'm sure that was magnified after Heath Ledger's death), and would only consider it if he found the right story, etc. As much as Marvel want's Whedon's involvement, I think they've demonstrated that they are willing to move on from you if you're not willing to work on their time schedule. At this point, they believe the brand is bigger than the individual, and until they have a major flop, they're right.

But, again, you certainly could be right...maybe the 2019 date will turn out to be A3. Maybe they would be willing to give Whedon time to do other things. If I were a betting man, though, my money would still be on the July 2018 date. Hopefully, we'll find out a week from today!

Marvel does seem to be establishing a release pattern of one established property, followed by a new property (CATWS followed by GOTG, AAOU followed by Ant Man, Cap 3 apparently followed by Dr. Strange). It will be interesting to see how they handle 3 releases in 2017.

Also, for anyone saying they wouldn't wait 4 years between Avengers, Thor 3 is now guaranteed to be 4 years after TDW.

Well, as successful as the Thor films have been, there's a several million dollar difference between a Thor movie and an Avengers movie. It's one thing to have 4 years in between Thor films. It's another to try to explain to your shareholders why you are waiting an additional year to bring out your biggest gun.

The fact we're going to potentially have so many heroes in the MCU by the time that Avengers 3 rolls around is just so exciting... Potentially:

Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Hulk, Black Widow, Hawkeye, Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver, Vision, Ant-Man, Dr. Strange, Black Panther, Captain Marvel, War Machine, Falcon, Winter Soldier, Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, Deathlok... Oh, and Star Lord, Drax, Gamora, Rocket Racoon and Groot too!

And there's room for Wasp and any other possible heroes on that list too. Who'd have thought, say, 10 years ago we'd have an entire Marvel Universe on film?

Most importantly, Bug! :p

Seriously, though, there's a very real chance a character originally based on a Japanese toy line could pop up in Phase 3. Bug was apparently considered for Guardians of the Galaxy early on and may show up in the sequel.

Maybe... but then again, remember that there was 4 years between The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises. Maybe part of the deal of getting Joss Whedon to come back for the third film is giving him time to make a different film in between Avengers movies?

I used to think the same before we knew the dates for the Phase II films, now i'm sure Marvel won't wait so long to release Avengers 3.

They might not wait until 2019 to release Avengers 3 but they certainly could. Marvel doesn't have a problem like say Star Trek where the 4 year wait hindered Into Darkness as the GA had kind of forgotten about Trek during the wait. Noone is going to lose itnerest in the Marvel characters if they'll release 2-3 solo movies every year.

Oh, certainly...they could release Avengers 3 in 2019 without losing any buzz, I think you're absolutely right about that! My thing is, I don't think the Disney shareholders would want to wait an additional year for that Avengers revenue. If Age Of Ultron matches, comes close to matching or, dare I say, even exceeds the first Avengers film's financial success, the folks at Disney are going to want a sequel a.s.a.p.! I think they're going to want an Avengers release on their books every three years like clockwork.

But, I could be wrong...we'll see!

I really want Avengers 3 to be released in two parts... That way there could be an Avengers 3 in the Nov. 2018 spot, three years later, and another in the May 2019 spot.
