No one is really complaining about this announcement.

Some of us are noticing things and pointing those things out. That is NOT the same as complaining.

This! I've been saying this since I've been here! Midnight Sons to kick off phase 4!

Hell yes. Sucks that we might have to wait 6 years or more to see it, though. Oh well, it'll be a wild ride on the way.

I agree on the midnight sons after all of the infinity sruff goes down.

I'm still disappointed they didn't announce Shopping Carts or Fancy Ghosts

What a miserable, joyless article.

Seconded. Get used to it, tho. I guarantee you there are about a billion people in the entertainment biz that just can't wait to see Marvel stumble. The more success they have the more hate they'll get.

So I guess EVERYONE introduced up to that point will appear in Avengers Infinity War Part II and that will be the end of Marvel's 1st Mega-Phase.

I agree. They are going to have to retire Stark/Rogers/Thor for some time. But anything else is up for grabs in PIV. I think they will be looking at Kree Skrulls to kick it off. It will be mostly cosmic I think. Think Defenders.

Hulk will be recast if need be because I don't think any Phase can be completely without Hulk. They can move forward with a Planet Hulk movie.

They are going to get SS and Galactus back in this thing eventually. I think it happens by 2022 if not sooner, going into the heart of Phase IV-VI.

Look for the cosmic universe and full blown Star Wars effect in Mega Phase II.

So Infinity War Part 2 potential heroes:

Captain America
Thor
Iron Man
Hulk
Black Widow
Hawkeye
Vision
Quicksilver
Scarlet Witch
War Machine
Falcon
Captain Marvel
Dr Strange
Daredevil
Iron Fist
Luke Cage
Jessica Jones
Black Panther
The Inhumans
Star Lord
Drax
Gamora
Groot
Rocket
Ant-Man
Nick Fury
Winter Soldier
and Howard the Duck.

Seeing all of those characters fight Thanos would definitely be something.

In all seriousness if that line up eventuates - where the bloody hell do you go after that?

Wonderful things are coming... Wonderful things!!!

I think telling smaller stories interwoven with the larger ones is the way to go. Not every movie needs to be a world or universal crisis. Nothing wrong with interesting smaller stories.

Amazing, insane, brilliant, epic, nerdgasm to end all nerdgasms, etc.

With that being said I have one concern. How do you do Infinity War Part I and then do Captain Marvel and Inhumans before Part II? I mean Thanos destroying the universe has to take immediate priority over anything that could be happening in those films right?

But I trust the hell out of Marvel (far more than I can say about DC's slate) and I'm sure they have a brilliant well thought out way to make it work.

Bring it on!!

By the time phase 4 begins, Marvel will have the Fantastic 4 and Spider-Man back. Those will likely be the big flagship characters as the likes of Iron Man, Thor, Cap are all put on the backburner or retired with more characters being introduced as well as a 3rd Guardians and if a success, sequels for Black Panther, Strange and Inhumans.

I'm not a huge Marvel guy but isn't Thanos like the big guy? I believe Whedon described him as the final boss in a video game.

Where do you go after him?

Well there's always the Beyonder but I hear they nerfed him in a retcon so who knows. I'd love a Secret Wars adaption as it's my all time favorite crossover mega-event from the comics.
