So, my little brother asked me today which comic book movies I look forward to the most this year.

Spider-Man is my absolute number one favourite super hero. Yet, thinking about it, as of now I look forward to Thor: Ragnarok and Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 2 more. I always pictured live action nova as an amalgamate of the new young mova and the old school Rich Ryder. I'd call him Alex Ryder, cast a 24 to 30 yr old Latino actor who can carry the role. Put other big names around him.

I created my own timeline that I'm comfortable with. I have everything saved on my computer on Open Office. It's just easier to deal with rather than multiple people telling me that this takes place here and that takes place there.

Lol, I did this as well. I have my own movie watch order that makes sense to me, and I am content with that.

I would love to have all that on a disc or hard drive somewhere in the right order where I just press play and the whole MCU story just unravels before me.

With announcement of Doctor Strange 2, does Phase 4 seem kind of boring? Here’s the list of what we know is happening:

Spider-Man: Far From Home
Black Widow
Eternals
Doctor Strange 2
Guardians vol 3 (tentative)

I assume there’s a team-up movie ala Avengers they are holding on announcing for now.

But feels weird not seeing a Cap, Thor, or IM movie in there.

I assume there’s a team-up movie ala Avengers they are holding on announcing for now.

But feels weird not seeing a Cap, Thor, or IM movie in there.

Don't forget Black Panther 2.

The latter 3 look pretty interesting to me (especially if Thor is in GOTG 3, which I think he will be). Personally, I don't need the big 3 to enjoy the MCU.

With enough production time to put films in 2020, 2021, and 2022, I think there'll be a slew of announcements as Feige slowly unveils what his vision for Phase 4 entails. If they continue putting out 3 films a year, there's only 6 films on the docket post-SM: FFA so there's potentially up to 3 spots still available.

I think it will be a good balance between follow-ups and new properties like Eternals, Shang-Chi, ect.

Is BP2 confirmed for phase 4? Assuming they are still doing Avengers crossover style events I’m curious what they will do. Safe money is on Secret Invasion since they are introducing Skrulls but we shall see.

Not to me. Luckily for me I love all these characters except for Eternals which I know nothing about, but I'm still excited to get to see them on screen.

Probably Cap Marvel 2 (as well as BP2 as mentioned above). Thor in GotG3 would be cool too. Maybe there are plans to start dropping F4 and X-Men cameos too.

The Apple buying Sony rumor comes from a clickbait article Variety posted speculating about things that might happen in 2019. Variety's "newsroom Nostradamuses" wrote up their wild predictions for the coming year and posted them, never claiming that they had any inside info to back it up. Then some fan sites picked up that spec and posted it as if it's actual news.

Apple Shells Out for Sony Pictures

The Silicon Valley giant will finally recognize it could use some Hollywood expertise as it tries to catch up with Netflix’s and Amazon’s streaming services. Buying Sony gives Apple access to a library that includes “Men in Black,” “Breaking Bad” and “Jumanji,” as well as the right to make more “Spider-Man” movies. That’s a web Apple would be lucky to spin. Also, buying a studio is basically a rounding error for a company worth $1 trillion.

A thought, maybe someone already said it: what if the Eternals movie is not an Eternals movie, but the first MCU's X-Men flick... Or it could even be both?
I would love either possibility, but I would not be that much surprised if they threw the title Eternals out there to cover their tracks from the press on a secret (X) project.

Someone suggested it elsewhere, but I don't buy that at all. Eternals makes sense as a GOTG3 substitute.

More to the point it's really unlikely they were able to secretly work on that all this time without anyone in Hollywood catching on period. We often have some inkling these projects are happening well before Marvel makes any sort of official announcement.

Would be crazy but actually not that surprising if Eternals ended up being a codename for MCU X-Men just to throw people off. Is it possible Marvel and Fox were already planning to integrate x-men into the MCU in Phase 4 after Dark Phoenix? Maybe Fox saw how the Sony deal went and they decided they wanted in on that MCU $$$. But theyre holding back the announcement till Comic-Con/D23 next year. Could explain why Dark Phoenix keeps getting pushed back.

If you read the leaked synopsis it honestly sounds like it could be a plot for x-men they just changed some names around in case it leaked.

couple things to point out.

Celestials genetically experimented on humans, creating the super-powered individuals as well as more villainous off-shoots known as Deviants ( aka Mutants?)
The two groups went on to battle each other throughout history to see which would eventually become the ultimate race. (Mutants vs Humans anyone?)
The story involves the love story between Ikaris, a man fueled by cosmic energy, and Sersi, who relishes moving amongst humans (Ikaris and Sersis honestly sound like a substitute for Charles and Magneto, you could look at Charles and Magnetos relationship as a bit of a love story)
