MCU X-Men - Part 2

Mags' MCU helmet better look good. The best Magneto helmet we got so far IMO was the one at the very end of First Class with the bright colors and the big pointy horn, which we only got for one shot. The others that Fassbender wore look fine but the colors are always muted and the horn is always more subtle.

Y'know what else we haven't gotten? That classic collar for his cape with the bolts on it. None of the movie costumes have had that. Graviton had bolts on his suit over on Agents of SHIELD and it looked fine there.

He just needs the red Corinthian helmet and purple cape from Jack Kirby's original design. The rest can be whatever's logical: red body armor or even street clothes.

X men were probably minding their own business. Feige and co can definitely come up with something better than x toddlers for their first mcu outing.

I don't know if they can and regardless they would probably think mostly-young cast (in part to differentiate from the Fox films) would be more commercially rewarding.

19-20 year-old actors cast as high school X-Men would be far more commercially rewarding. Look at the Disney Channel stylings in Spider-Man: Homecoming, and note how Spider-Man will be graduating high school in 2021 and how Sony, not Disney gets all the profits. Introducing Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters in 2022 is right up the Mouse's alley.

I agree with a younger team of mutants. It's easier to work the X-men into the MCU if there's a sudden explosion of mutations and most mutants have had their powers for less than a year. It also differentiates the MCUtants from the FoX-men films, which primarly focused on an older team with the students playing second fiddle. And it allows the cast to grow and develop over the next 10,15,20 years of movies.

I agree. The MCU is going to need younger actors between 20-25 years of age to carry this series over. Xavier and Eric I said early 40s-50s. I would like too see a X-Men Evolution meets the 90s TAS movie going forward. The beginnings of mutant hysteria, discrimination, etc

Bingo. There are three reasons actors leave a series: demanding too much money, age, and just not liking it. An ensemble cast of 20-year-old actors solves two of those problems.

So here's a conundrum: all the Fox films and most of the cartoons (the '90s one excepted) excised all the extraterrestrial, Savage Land, etc. stuff because it has nothing to do with the core theme of mutant/majority relations. But that stuff is shallow spectacle: if you want to prove to someone that X-Men is intelligent and literary, you recommend the Days of Futures Past, God Loves Man Kills or Magneto: Testament graphic novel, not a Sauron or Shi'ar story. These are exactly the sort of stories Fox has already adapted.
So there's going to be an inevitable tension between intelligent stories and completely new stories.

I don’t know about that. Black panther showed you can tell an intelligent story without loosing the fantastical elements. In fact, those elements help portray important issues.

In fact, you can argue that’s what sci fi is all about

Even though I love her as Elektra, Elodie Yung would've made an excellent Psylocke.

I expect the promotional materials will lead with something to the effect of

Witness the ne:xmen:t evolution of the Marvel Universe

And for some reason, I've been picturing a chorus in the background chanting "WE ARE X!", but I have no idea what would justify that.

But she has the look and poise bro lol
Look & poise is not in shortage

MCU Logan is that you?

I don't see it, but I probably wouldn't have pictured a certain tall, dashing, Australian song-and-dance man in the role, so I wouldn't mind being surprised.

Tom Hardy is the actor to request if you want a short man to cover his face a lot.

True. A less famous actor born 1989 or later would be more forward looking.
Who can we think of that age who's actually good and no taller than Elevator Shoes Downey?

Tom Hardy is too old to cast for that role
Realisticly speaking is Tom Hardy even interested in the character? He seems way more into Venom than Logan. If Venom is a success than don't think Tom Hardy will play him, but you never know he could pull a Josh Brolin.
