The Supergirl cast stopped off at the Naval Base in Coronado to say hello to some real heroes, and these two sweethearts. :)

I think the Blake Lively resemblance I see is due to the smile:

Melissa has a much warmer, and ironically livelier face than Blake. No pun intended.

Blake looks more like Emma Bell, who is like an even colder version of Lively.

That is a GREAT description....oooh, so much better than my "harsh" word. I didn't like that word.....in fact I despise that word, and knew it wasn't what I was looking for.

Melissa frequently does this nose scrunch when she smiles, which is super adorable. :ilv: Am I the only one who likes this?

I don't know if I can find an example of it in a still photo. It would probably have to be a gif or a video.

She really is the perfect casting for the role, she comes across as so natural and a nice person. That dancing video was great too haha, I'm definitely crushing on her and that kind of personality is hard to find. Supergirl for sure! Liking that she is going blonder too it seems, and it really does make a difference to how the character is seen and perceived but that is a different conversation.

The show can't come soon enough!

I actually liked the preview for the show(except for the shoe-horned and unnecessary race change of Jimmy Olsen) even if it was reminiscent of the SNL parody of Scarlet Johannsan's Black Widow.

I can see the comparison with the trailer, but not the pilot. To me the pilot wiped out that comparison in spades.

I would think, and do think they have finished the script to Episode 2 and since we got the names of some of the villains, I am really excited for them to start filming July 23 and possibly some set pics to come soon after.

I have got a crush on her too. In fact she is my first true TV crush. TBH I did not watch Glee, and at first I wasn't so sure about her as Supergirl. Now that I have, there is nothing but love for Melissa. Saw an interview she did with Craig Ferguson on CBS a few years ago, and her personality was just so bubbly. TV is missing people like that who are upbeat, sweet, can have a good laugh and look so beautiful at the same time. Melissa Benoist is about to become America's new (super-powered) sweetheart.

Supergirl has been my comic book crush (sorry to all the :ww: fans); and now seeing her come to life in this ray of sunshine and Rocky Mountain beauty, it's like really falling in love. :hrt::hrt:

I know she's married, but this is like a schoolboy crush where everytime I see Melissa, my heart beats a little faster.

She definitely likes sweet things, just like her. :ilv:

What boy could say no to having an ice cream or something ice cream based with Supergirl...especially one so cute and sexy like Melissa? Me, I would have an ice cream soda...with two straws. It would be in some 50's style diner. And on the jukebox (before the days of MP3s and ITunes) an old song from the early days of rock and roll (in fact 60 years ago) by the doo-wop group The Penguins (please no Batman jokes) called Earth Angel. "I'm just a fool; a fool in love..." :hrt: :ilv:

Seems appropriate as that was the nickname of the 1990s Supergirl...

Wasn't Earth Angel also the Matrix Supergirl merged with Linda Danvers? And Melissa's costume is most closely based on the Matrix Supergirl, which was the one Helen Slater wore, and is the most iconic look, but one never worn by the actual Supergirl oddly enough.
