Does that have any relevance to the plot or just thrown in as a random callback?

She seemed like arms dealer in the trailers or a contact for acquiring something.

Max the mom was also an arms dealer. Guess it runs in the family :D

Anybody out there who ranks the original film as their favorite in the entire franchise?

In regards to tonight and the rest of the weekend,
Please remember to support your local IMF chapter.
Sorry, I just couldn't resist!

Your mission should you choose to accept it is to go to a local theater and view classified mission reports. You may now choose your associates. Popcorn and Coca Cola

I accept!
I have not not had Coca- Cola and popcorn at the movies in many years.
But, you are tempting me.
However, I can almost guarantee that I will purchase bottled water and two salted pretzels for at least one of my two screenings this weekend.
Anybody else have any movie snack plans when they see Fallout?

Ah, great to hear!

Close to yours actually

1) Fallout
2) Ghost Protocol
3) Rogue Nation
4) M:I3
5) Mission Impossible
6) M:I2

In other words they are getting better every time (aside from MI:2).

The Solomon Lane extraction scene, even with the lorry creating the diversion

Ah I suppose. Although it's different in that [blackout]Solomon Lane is in the armored car that goes under water. And we actually get to see what happens when you're trapped in there. Props to McQuarrie for showing the water coming up to slap him in the face in a wave of death, as opposed to just filling in from the bottom. :hehe: [/blackout]

So, how do people rate the series as a whole now they’ve seen Fallout?

For me, it goes:

1. Fallout
2. Ghost Protocol
3. Rogue Nation
4. Mission Impossible
5. MI3
6. MI2

I get where you're coming from. For me it goes:

1. Rogue Nation
2. The original
3. Fallout
4. Ghost Protocol
5. MI3
6. MI2

Yeah, I loved everything you just said about that too, especially the part where [BLACKOUT]he takes a deep breath and they show him going under, plus there’s a pay-off for that scene[/BLACKOUT]

Oh yeah, it’s not the same story sequence by any means, but the influence is obvious. McQuarrie’s even said Nolan has been an influence on him, so it makes sense.

I posted this in the JL lounge but anyone rocking the August Walker look for their screening today or whenever they are going?

Buzzing to see this tomorrow, watched Rogue Nation again yesterday and it still the same slick thrill ride I remember loving the first time round from start to finish, hard to see how it could be topped....

For those who have seen it (and without giving anything away), is Cavill good in it?

My rankings (Fallout is excluded since I haven't see it yet):

1. Rogue Nation.
2. Ghost Protocol.
3. Mission Impossible III.
4.Mission Impossible.

5. Mission Impossible II.

In regards to Henry Cavill as August Walker, he is being wasted in the DCEU. It’s funny what a difference a competent director and a good script can make to an actor’s performance. He got to let loose here and performs his role well. At first he’s just kinda there but as the film progresses, he definitely comes out of his shell and the film ups the ante.

Yes. He’s certainly given a chance to cut loose. He’s still not the greatest actor in the world to be honest, but he fills the role given to him in the movie very well.

One of Snyder’s biggest crimes is stifling Cavill’s natural character and personality in his movies. It’s very frustrating, because Henry could, and should, have been an incredible Superman.

YES! We got a glimpse of what his Superman could have been like in towards the end of Man of Steel and in Justice League, plus he got to be quite charismatic in the Man from UNCLE so it’s not like he doesn’t have it in him.

Cavill needs another go at Supes, in a film that totally suits his strengths.

Double Toasted gave it a high full price.
